My family of 6 drove up to Echo Lake Lodge yesterday just to have dinner. (Our intention was not to go to the top of Mt. Evans, we went for the food.) We had been hearing so many wonderful comments about it, we felt like we needed to check it out for ourselves. It was better than we even dreamed.... More

After driving up Mount Evans, this is your only option for food, restrooms, and gifts. The latter two are excellent; the restrooms were spotless, and the gift shop offers many souvenir options at reasonable prices. The restaurant side of the business is another story... The waitstaff were inattentive and lazy. We waited nearly 40 minutes after for our food to... More

My husband ate here after traveling to and from the summit of Mt, Evans on our anniversary. I had the fried trout and my husband had the chicken pot pie with steamed broccoli, We ordered pieces of peach and cherry pie to go. This is an excellent restaurant that hits the spot after a white knuckle drive. I love the... More

Yes, cole slaw. A side dish, the best of which is usually created in restaurants such as Juniors or Katz's Deli in NYC, has now been found off scenic byway 103 in Idaho Springs, Colorado. While driving to the summit of Mount Evans, we decided to stop at Echo Lake Lodge Restaurant for lunch. Guests enter the dining facility through... More

Do try and stop in here for lunch or dinner. This place really brought me back to my childhood going to Yosemite in the summer. The food and service was really good. It is too bad they are not open as a lodge anymore, I would consider staying there. We really enjoyed sitting by the window and watching the hummingbirds... More

Was told to try the pie and was not disappointed! Homemade and fresh! Best pie I've had in awhile. Wait staff was pleasant and we came during a lull so it was quiet and enjoyable. We all enjoyed our food...just sandwiches but a nice size for the price. Also, hummingbird feeders by most of the windows that were flooded with... More

Stopped in for an early lunch before making the drive up to Mt Evans. Cool lodge feel with an amazing view of Echo Lake. Food was good. I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Wish I had room for a slice of pie because they looked amazing. Definitely worth a stop on the way up or back from the mountain.... More

This place has a great mountain lodge feeling. The inside is outstanding and looks very well maintained. However, we didn't feel at home and when we first walked in the young lady said "I get off in a half an hour so I am great" and continued with how much she couldn't wait to get off work. Which was followed... More

I've been vacationing near Idaho Springs, Colorado since 1967. It's a great place for people who really enjoy the wilderness, but who like a close-by and fun spot to get back to civilization when necessary. One of my old favorite places in the area is Echo Lake Lodge. I never fail to pay a visit while I'm hiking in the... More

After driving up to Mt. Evans we stopped off at the Echo Lake Lodge for souvenirs and the pies we had heard about. There were souvenirs of every type to be found and the pies were amazing, especially the Coconut Cream! The attitudes, complaints and what came off as laziness of the two young ladies working in the dining area... More
