Great stop after Mt. Evans (Restaurant is closed for season)

Vintage lodge and restaurant. Great visit after Mt Evans. The gift shop makes a fun stop and the restaurant has homemade pies!! Had a soup, salad, sandwich and pie...all were very good. Went the last weekend the Mt Evans road was open and the restaurant was closing the next day. I assume the... read more

When you go to Mt. Evans you need to stop at the Lodge. The setting by the lake is wonderful and the food is good and homemade pie.

We got an early start and began the ascent in our Jeep at 7 AM. On the way up we passed many, many cyclists doing it the hard way, bless their hearts. From Idaho Springs on I-70 you are literally less that 7 miles away. After breakfast if the road up to the crest is open you have another 20... More

The lake is beautiful and if you get a table by the window, the setting is very nice. But they were out of several of the items I wanted, which was very disappointing. My bun turned out to be excessively soaked in butter - so much that I didn't eat it. So we enjoyed the stop to relax and eat... More

Stopped at this place after visiting Mount Evans. This is a mix of souvenir shop with a sback bar and a restaurant. We opted for the restaurant option. While ordering we have been advised that regular beef patties were not available so I had to opt for the bull which one has to pay extra for it. When it came... More

Came up with family who lives in Genesee. Tough drive if you are accustomed to driving and prone to car sickness (me, unfortunately)..... But, the most difficult part of the trip is that we came in from the California Coast at sea level, just 2 days prior. We hadn't even acclimated to Denver's altitude, and here we are on the... More

Four of us stopped in at the Lodge on our way back from the Mt. Evans summit, on the day after Labor Day. Very friendly staff, super breakfast, fast service. Beautiful views from the dining room picture windows. Our waitress, Denise, gave us first class attention and service. We will make a point of stopping here whenever we are in... More

We stopped in on our way down Mt. Evans. Super cute gift shop with a great selection of items. There was also a little diner attached to it, loved it!

I opted out of going all the way up Mt. Evans (chose some extra sleep as I had a late flight out of Denver), but stopped in here for some souvenirs. Lots of interesting items (a nice way of saying there is some junk), but there is something for just about every collector to mark their trip. BEWARE if you... More
