good food, can't wait for the grand re-opening!

The Buffalo is a bit pricey but you pay for good food and great atmosphere. The onion rings are my favorite and the burgers are great! They are remodeling to become a brew pub and I am eagerly awaiting their re-opening. I believe they will blow our other "so called" brewery out of the water. I... read more

We ate lunch here last Oct. on the way back from Breckenridge. The atmosphere is great, like a step back in Colorado time (& not at all fancy). The burgers are excellent (Beef or buffalo). Also excellent fries. Lots of other stuff on the menu. Reasonable prices, good service. Check out the neat buffalo caps & T-Shirts for sale. After... More

Seriously, why have you not been here? That's really the question. GREAT food with awesome, locally sourced buffalo options among others. Rustic, colorado atmosphere and the locals are always here. What's not to like.

The Buffalo Bar is a great place to grab a burger or more when in the Idaho Springs area. Service was great, the food was good and prices reasonable.

I have eaten here many times. Food is ok, they do have a big menu so lots of choices. Always a fun place to stop with our out of town visitors. I recommend the nachos and beer. Huge plate full, enough to share.

The Buffalo Bar is a historic place in Idaho Springs, CO. The bar (shelves, mirror, fixture itself) dates to the 1860s and that's REALLY OLD for Colorado! :o) The atmosphere is great, the prices are reasonable and the burgers - both beef and bison - are really really good! I am a repeat visitor and I send tourist visitor/guests here... More

Food was definitely below average. There was one beer on tap, yet they had a full row of taps. Would not eat here again.

Ok, you've been out in the mountains of Colorado all day and are looking for a mountain-type of lunch or dinner. Time to stop at the Buffalo Restaurant & Bar for one of their great buffalo burgers. Depending on how hungry you are, you can have the 5 or 8 oz size. The 5 oz is just the right size... More

We ordered the Bison Rib Eye, very good, mine was a little to Rare, so they took it back and cooked it a little more for me. Great wait staff, wide variety to choose from. Priced reasonably.

I would have rated this average if it weren't for the settings and their antiques collection, especially the signs and the bar. Even if you don't eat there, you should take the time to walk in (it's large, four separate buildings have been united in this one place) and take a look: they have an extensive collection of old signs,...
