Could have been Italy

We went here twice on this trip. The first time we were seated indoors and I had the scallops and my husband had lamb. They were both excellent. (Our friends had the Mexican dish that was on special - they were less impressed with their selections, but it wasn't actually Tex Mex, which could have... read more

This restaurant is located right off the highway and is hidden behind a grove of wild flowers. The wait staff is more than helpful. The wind was blowing lightly through the windows and mountains are all around. It is a bit pricey, but the food was worth it. I had a dirty martini with my steak, and it was great.... More

I tried the Kennebec Cafe and Bakery after church last Sunday and was very happy with my experience. I was with a close friend and hiking partner. I had the "Kennie-Bennie" which is a light pastry with poached eggs and sauce on top. Fresh fruit was on the side. Delicious. My friend had a Crab Omelette which was also delicious.... More

This was the best meal of many we had on our tour of Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. From the salad to the main course to the dessert, we not only had no complaints, we really remembered this food. My son loved the duck. I loved the beet salad. But really, anything on the menu is going to satisfy here.... More

We love the flat bread, it is seasonal and is just wonderful. I've yet to eat anything at this great little out of the way place that wasn't excellent. We make it an annual stop on our anniversary trip to Blue Lake Ranch. I would suggest reservations.

For being out of the way, from Durango, this place was really good. We had a large party and they were very accommodating and did a great job.

We were staying in the Mancos area, and our B&B owners recommended Kennebec. Inspite having made a reservation, we were given a table in the bar area, which seems to be much less comfortable than the main dining area. We asked to change with no success. The staff was polite, but not friendly. Service was just ok, maybe because the... More

I live 45 miles from Kennebec and often drive up just to have a lovely meal. I have probably been here 30 times and never had a bad meal. It is so peaceful and the decor is so relaxing. I introduced my quilting friends to Kennebec a couple of years ago as we were going thru Hesperus to a quilt... More

As a local of Durango, I have eaten at Kennebec my entire life and never once have I been disappointed with the service or food. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and hardworking people and always aim to please. Could not ask for a better dining experience, especially with the beautiful summer scenery. For anyone visiting from out of... More
