Went there on a Sunday morning and had to wait awhile for a table. This is not a big place and there had to be 60 people there. The service was slow but not their fault it was hard for the waitresses to even get around the people . It took awhile but the food was great and nothing but... More

This used to be a run-down motel years ago, but now it is a little bit of high-altitude Tuscany on the highway near the turnoff to La Plata Canyon, between Durango and Mancos. Some friends took us for Sunday brunch and the food was excellent with attentive staff. Quite a variety of customers, too. An all around pleasant experience.

Went there on a saturday. Went to the bar looking for a drink, saw 6 people behind the bar, but only got a "hello" from one, and then no service. After 15 minutes I gave up. Dinner was average, at best, no imagination. I spent a lot of time near this place, but I will never go back.

What a great place! Beautiful decor - southwestern. Great staff and absolutely terrific food. We had a large group who chose everything from a grilled salmon salad, to burgers, and Eggs Benedict with their own special twist.

The Kennebec is truly food at it's finest; everything is delicious!! We've eaten there several times and have never been disappointed.

Our innkeeper had recommended we try Kennebec Café after our day in the national park. We are so glad he did. It was lovely. We enjoyed the patio dining, although it was a bit cool, and our superb waitress brought me no less than 3 cups of decaf coffee! My husband particularly enjoyed his Chicken Tortilla Soup appetizer as much... More

Kennebec Cafe is lovely and their food is perfect! Yum! Yum! I went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon with my Father and his wife. We had omelets and crab cakes with home fries and black beans. Atmosphere is nice outside and the building inside is beautiful. Due to tourism it is not necessary to dress up if you would... More

I would highly recommend this outstanding restaurant to anyone visiting the Durango/Cortez area. It rivals or beats any of the Durango restaurants. It is really somewhat out in the middle of nowhere and is therefore surprising in its content and quality. The food was very good as was the service. I'm very picky when it comes to restaurants and virtually... More

My husband and I stopped in for Sunday brunch. We were on our way to 4 wheel La Plata Canyon. We were so glad we stopped! The breakfast was so amazing. Try the scone, the sweet cream and raspberry jam were over the top.

On a recent visit to Mesa Verde in Colorado, the Kennbec Cafe was recommended by our Innkeeper. A reservation was made for 7:30 for which we arrived at 7:20. We were seated around 7:45. The restaurant did indeed appear to be busy. We were promptly attended to by a male waiter and our drink order was taken and served. Appropriately,... More
