A lovely surprise

My husband and I were spending the evening in Hesperus on our way back from a trip to the Grand Canyon. We were thinking that we would have to go into Durango for somewhere to eat when we were recommended the Kennebec Cafe by our B&B. We are so glad that we went there! The food was delicious and... read more

We just left from Kennebec Café. Our experience this time was less than desirable. If this is any sample of Kennebec’s new customer service… I would Highly recommend that a diner choose another restaurant in the Durango area to be ignored at. I am providing information on the breakfast/brunch service. First off, after being sat, our server did take both... More

I know the day that you speak of and it is unfortunate that you did not receive the level of service that we hold ourselves to. Yes, we did have technical difficulties that day. It is our goal to give impeccable service and I truly believe that each person on staff does their best to assure a pleasurable experience. The... More

My family and I enjoy eating here quite often the food is excellent most of the time as long as it is not cold. The major down fall is the service I asked for an extra side of hollandais because there was only like a table spoon to start with on my eggs Benedict and it took about 20 min... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. I apologize that your dining experience with us this time around was not pleasurable. Let me assure you that the staff has been made aware of your experience and we are determined to correct what went wrong. As for being overpriced, we will look into this but we have... More

Stopped by the Kennebec for dinner and had the same experience as the last few times, and, lately, similar to most of Durango's restaurants. For a town with more restaurants per capita than a lot of big cities, service is the real problem. Tourist trade wins out and service is not paramount. We have been eating here for years, know... First of all, I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed the food. I am disappointed to hear that one of our staff members would make a remark like that on the floor. We have created a new policy to combat that from ever happening again. We love it when the restaurant is full! It is also a policy... More

Kennebec combines great ambiance and excellent cuisine. They have a mix of large and small plates that is able to satisfy any appetite and budget. My wife loves their Salmon and the daily fresh fish options. She also is addicted to the Flat Bread appetizer. I have eaten nearly every item on the menu and have found most to be... More

This pleasant restaurant is a little outside of town but well worth the short drive. The server was very attentive & pleasant. The food was reasonably priced for good quality ingredients and great flavor & presentation. We will be back.

2nd year that we have done this. if you wear your pajamas you get a gift certificate for the amount of money you spend on food. you have 4 months to come back to the restaurant and use it. lots of fun to see everyone in their Pjs.

We just don't think you will be disappointed if you eat at Kennebec. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food is made from quality ingredients, prepared with care and artistic expression without being over the top. Locals go here. Dinners are reasonably price. Try the pancakes and chicken apple sausages for brunch.

We had just flown in and visiting friends when they took us up the mountain for dinner. With the snow and mountains at night this is a somewhat magical setting. Three of us had the seafood special which was a sea bass in broth and it really was good. The fourth had the salmon which was equally as good. Our... More

Miguel and Barbara continue to delight with their truly tasty and innovative offerings. A group of women dined together and all were well-pleased at the great food and service, so much so, we even ordered and ate ALL dessert.
