Excellent food, good service, and beautiful view of the rapids.
Such an enjoyable evening! Loved the menu with unusual dressing and sauce combinations that were delicious, as well as the small plates and entrees. But the star was their black bean soup - best I have ever had! Don't miss eating here for dinner, and make sure to ask for a river view when you make your reservations!
We had a really nice dinner tonight, far surpassing our expectations. We travelled from Aspen and frankly our dinner at the Rapids was far tastier, had better service and cost about half what we paid for a comparable meal in Aspen. The service was truly friendly. We initially thought the prices were high but they included shrimp cocktail, soup or... More
You may miss this wonderful lunch place, because it's not on the free Grand Lake merchants map, but it is worth the short walk for lunch. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the smoked salmon sandwich. Both were generous servings and well prepared. And you can't beat the patio dining next to the rapids with the martins zipping up... This used to be one of our favorite restaurants--great, gourmet food, beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. Not so any more. The menu is much more limited, and menu items are ho-hum. Salad was good, bread was blah, salmon over-cooked and sides really humdrum. Dessert was good. One poor, overworked server handled the entire dining room and the bar.
Very good food and service with incredible views, especially in the fall when the colors change!
We have made this our special dining spot annually for the last five years. We are never disappointed. There is plenty to eat, a beautiful ambience in the dining room with a view of the Tonahutu river in full spring white water. The chef is constantly changing the menu but we're assured that we'll like whatever is suggested. There is... More
We stayed in Grand Lake two days and I had heard about this place. When we first saw the building, my husband though we should try somewhere else, a little too rustic for a good meal he thought. Boy was he surprised! The menu is five stars. The charming dining room overlooks a rushing stream. The service was very friendly... More
Stayed at the Rapids Lodge, and after a long drive to get there, decided to try the restaurant to avoid getting back in the car. The food and service were excellent. The menu was not that extensive, and this restaurant I would deem as "upscale". The food offered would definitely not be considered "casual" (i.e. sage-mango salad dressing). I would... More
We always make a reservation and eat early when in Grand Lake,CO so it seems we usually get a table by the window overlooking the river. Gorgeous watching the sun and shadows play over the water. On this trip we were celebrating our 35th anniversary. There was a special of Salmon with cilantro-lime rice $24 or several other full 4... More
