Everything about our dinner for 6 was stellar starting with the view of the river rushing by our window. Our server Sue was knowledgable and made excellent food recommendations. The bison vegetable stew as a starter was delicious. Would have made a great entree. Three of us had the special...bison medallions with a fabulous onion pomegranate sauce. Lick the plate... More

We ate there on our stay at the lodge Aug 20th to the 24th, but only once. For such a laid back town this restaurant was just too stuffy, took it self too seriously and then didn't deliver with the food that should make it all worth it.

Had dinner there with about 60 people associated with a wedding we attended. The room we were in was a nice size and was open to the bar, although it seemed like we had the whole area to ourselves. Service was beyond good. Appetizers and dinner were tasty and we had a choice of 3 dishes to eat. All were... More

This is typical "old Colorado" - cozy, lodge pole-pine log building on the banks of a rushing mountain stream just at the end of downtown. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and steered us right. We called ahead to secure a table right on the window over the rushing water - there were people beneath us having drinks alongside the water... More

We highly recommend dining here at least twice (lunch outside by the river and dinner inside with comfort/feel of an old lodge) and enjoy great (quality/quantity) food with friendly service. We've dined here numerous times, never been disappointed and met some very interesting/friendly fellow diners. If you're only here on a short stay be sure this one is on your... More

Staying at the Rapids Lodge, I ate dinner at the Lodge. If you like to watch the water tumbling over the rocks and listen to the sound of the river, this is the place. I had their special for the evening, which was Bison medallions. The portions were very large. It is by far the best Bison that I have... More

Wonderful restaurant, great staff, very good food at reasonable price, super location right on a little river....... Best restaurant in town! (but also probably most expensive) We even got raspberry sorbet after salad to clean our palate ;-)

Over the past 10 years we've made the occasional trip to the Rapids and have been delighted every time. Elk, Bison, Trout, Steak, Chicken, Pasta - its all good. I do wish their wine list matched the foods better. Great food calls for great wine options.

My birthday dinner there was quite good and the service was excellent. The great view of the river is always worth the trip, if only for a glass of wine! and I've never had a bad meal in the many years we have frequented there.

Spent one night in grand lake on the way to a wedding in steamboat springs... It was one of the girls in our groups birthday so we were looking for a nice place to relax and eat to celebrate. This place was great! Right on the river with great views and even better food. The actual restaurant is nothing to... More
