Description: il Bistro Italiano opened in August 1998. Our focus is on bringing a combination of traditional Italian dishes together with some innovative ones created within the boundaries of modern Italian cuisine. The pastas, breads, sauces, and desserts are all made at the restaurant from fresh ingredients. Our wine list features a large selection of wines from Italy and Colorado, and whenever possible, we use local ingredients in our kitchen. There is always something going on at the Bistro, so look at the Events Section to learn of special wine nights, cooking classes or other featured events.

I really want to like Il Bistro, since Grand Junction has a dearth of decent restaurants, but I always leave disappointed and feeling a bit ripped off. We went with friends again last night and started with the mushroom soup with truffle oil. It was pretty good, but the oil was overwhelming (truffle burps for hours after). I had the... More

Great Italian food. Always good. We came for lunch and each of us had soup and both were really tasty.

Every time we go to Grand Junction I think we will eat here. It is probably the best Italian food I've ever eaten. The service can be a little slow but everyone is very friendly and the food is outstanding

They did change the menu a bit, so my fav dishes are gone, but they have plenty of other choices that made up for my loss. I love the seating outside and the service is fantastic. GREAT PLACE

Outstanding restaurants are hard to find. However, the salads are wonderful, the main courses are a delight, matched with the house wine makes this restaurant a must do. The service is just right, friendly, responsive, and the suggestions make the visit complete. We will always be repeat customers.

Limited selection, however, food is always delicious. Great presentation and wonderful service. Servers knowledgeable about pairing wines with dishes.

I arrived hungry and looking for some wine, salad and a bowl of pasta. I'm often disappointed in Ragu sauces in the US, as they seem to want to sweeten the sauce with sugar. I much prefer the natural tomato taste, possibly with some basil and/or oregano. This place was great! The salad was simple and tasty, the spaghetti ragu... More

A large group of about 20 finished our trip here and ate family style. The menu was already decided upon and the food just kept coming. Everything was good and the wine was great as well. It was a 5 course meal that was a good way to end a week of travel.

Since it is so hard to find great Italian food in the US, I avoid them. This place tempted me with the menu and it is amazing. The pasta was great with good selections like pacheri with homemade sausage. The one thing they do not do and should, a typical mistake in the US when doing pasta, is not cook... More

After a long drive, finding this unexpected taste of Italy on the western slope of Colorado was a wonderful surprise. We had the spaghetti ragu and were not disappointed. It's located along the walking mall in downtown GJ.
