We had gone here on a friends suggestion and had pretty high expectations. The wait staff wasn't bad but with only one for the whole place service was slow. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Honestly there are a lot better places in town for Japanese food.

This is like deli form of Japanese fast food. I only ordered Teriyaki Chicken with rice that comes with miso soup. Service was not great. Japanese music was fine. The miso soup was so diluted, it tasted horrible. The teriyaki chicken did taste yummy but it was not grilled; it was deep fried and seasoned with teriyaki sauce. So if... More

I am a very adventurous person and talked my family into this whole in the wall restaraunt.... Needless to say it was an adventure gone bad. We only ate the sushi and the meat used was in no stretch of the imagination sushi grade and was super stringy. Food was horrible and service wasn't great either. Don't get me wrong,... More

The sushi was about average for what I have experienced in Grand Junction. Nothing better, nothing worse than anywhere else in town. My friend had the chicken teriyaki and raved about it saying it was the best she has ever had. Prices were great. Very casual laid back atmosphere.

The menu offers a nice selection of traditional Japanese food, including sushi. The food is always fresh and excellent. Service can be slow, but you can see them working hard to prepare your food, so I can't complain. It's freshly prepared right then. The atmosphere inside doesn't have a lot of character, but the food makes up for it. Also,... More

I love their food, and their prices are great. My kids love this restaurant too! The salmon is wonderful. I would like bigger portions, but it's a good experience every time

We were in the mood for some Japanese which was close to our hotel. We decided to give this place a try and it was well worth it. Ignore all the other asian places and come here, at least once. This restaurant is located in a strip mall so it's fairly small. It is owned by a Japanese family that... More

Kunikos is a small little restaurant in a little strip mall. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. They make everything fresh, so allow enough time it is not "fast food". Love going.
