This place, despite being a little tricky to find if you're coming in from Denver, is AWESOME! I think I changed our reservation a few times - no complaints from the staff. We showed up all separately (we were coming from different towns, different work schedules to meet for dinner before Red Rocks) and were seated with a friendly smile.... More

Went there for the first time today. The food was amazing and the owners very friendly. Loved the passion fruit juice. I will definitely go back.

The Elotes Cafe has been open since January of this year, but due to our infrequent travel through Golden we only just noticed and tried it. My wife and I are a Hispanic-fusion family, and we delighted in finding Latin American cuisine well-done. (We lived in Venezuela a couple of years, and Elotes' well-prepared food brought back memories.) Although Luis... More

I am Hispanic but had never eaten Venezuelan food. We were delighted to discover this charming small family-run restaurant. The owners are extremely friendly and will happily converse with you in English or Spanish about their menu options. We love empanadas, and the beef were fantastic. Tostones, arepas and corn pancakes were delicious. My oldest son loved his classic criollo... More

Was not sure what it would be like but it was just great!! The owner, Luis, was welcoming and most pleasant and explained in great detail what the food was he it was just the best. We have been looking for a special place to eat in Golden and this one fits the bill. We have some fish and it... More

I can't say that I have ever had Venezuelan cuisine before, but this was very tasty! We ordered an Arepa with the Pabellon stuffing as a starter. Very good. For main dishes, we ordered the Chicken Polenta and Tuna Caribbean Cake. Both were fabulous! The Chicken Polenta was super super flavorful, and the Tuna Caribbean Cake was creamy and delicious.... I am so glad to see this restaurant in Golden! We've been in need of a place that serves healthy, tasty, and affordable Latin American food. I tried the Pabellon Criollo, a mild and flavorful Venezuelan meal with shredded beef, rice, black beans, and fried plantains. The meat was tender and tasty without being too salty, and the plantains were... More

We finally have a great restaurant in that little corner triangle! What great food and wonderful service. I hope that its location and size don't discourage people from trying...once you try, you will be hooked. Great specials and wonderful South American standards.

Like the precious metal for which the town is named, the tucked away Venezuelan inspired eatery is a keeper. Don't let the strip mall location on the edge of town fool you. Elote's may lack a flashy address, but you don't eat addresses. Dining is about the atmosphere inside, and of course, the food. The husband and wife team make... More

Eating latin american food this far from the sub-continent most of the time is almost either too plain or too dry, but at this place the authentic goes beyond the real deal to levels of being almost gourmet. The flavors, the textures and the attention to detail is way beyond your typical mexican/hispanic place. Their version of Flan is beyond... More
