Best Meal In Town

After visiting GS for years, and having patronized most of the restaurants in town, we were lead to River's by a local and could not have been more pleased. The shrimp and grits I ordered were amazing. Our waitress was well skilled and experienced. I can't express enough through my reviews how... read more

Birthday dinner for my brother drew us to Rivers. Hadn't been for awhile and discovered a fabulous "early bird" prix fixe dinner menu for $19.95 per person. Soup or salad, choice of six entrees (complete with fixings) and dessert. Our table of four ordered three different entrees and each one was delicious. There was a lively happy hour scene in... Been there for a drink and like the atmosphere very much. The food and the service is good. Find many locals regularly come for a drink .

We went to the Rivers restaurant for a birthday dinner we sat out on the patio over looking the river. We came an hour early for dinner service but the staff was very nice and sat us anyhow. We had my 3 year old with us and the waiter took extra good care of him bringing him cherries when he... More

My family, 14 people with ages ranging from 6-72, visited the Rivers Restaurant as part of a weekend mini-cation to Glenwood Springs via Amtrak. We have several members with serious food allergies, along with some picky eaters. Everyone left happy and full. I personally enjoyed their melt-in-your-mouth flank steak and look forward to returning so I can try it again.... More

This was a lovely evening, super friendly staff fabulous atmosphere. The menu was fair - not especially inspiring but good. Smoked trout pate with capers and onion and fried scallion bread - this was good - but lacking in trout. The pate tasted only of cream cheese and not of trout. Portobello mushroom with a lot of cream sauce, very... More

From cocktails through dinner everything was excellent.spinach salad was great first course. Lamb was wonderful. Prime rib was tender and flavorful. New York was cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and evident. We went to celebrate my mother's birthday and it was a wonderful evening.

This is the perfect spot for an upscale dinner in Glenwood Springs...and you don't have to dress up! The food is delicious and very authentic to the area. You MUST try the elk meatballs appetizer. A family member is an avid fisherman and was in love with the Red Snapper! If you can get there for lunch or early dinner,... More

Years ago this location was Penelope's, one of the best dining establishments in the valley. We had not visited it for years. We are glad we came back to Rivers. The food was very good and we had a great time visiting with family, exchanging stories and eating. The location right on the Roaring Fork is exceptional.

My husband and I ate here during our Glenwood Springs family vacation. I wouldn't recommend bringing young children here as it is more of a "quiet" restaurant...but it's perfect for a date night! I had the bacon wrapped duck and my husband had the sirloin steak - both were amazing. We chose the fried caramel cheesecake for dessert which was... More
