Georgetown itself is an interesting place with lots of character buildings and shops, and a number of cafes and restaurants. We picked the Happy Cooker, which does a selection of meals and snacks. Chicken croissant and salad, turkey BLT, burger were all very good. A nice meal, in a pleasant and tidy setting, substantial food without being bloated. Service was... More

We had just finished the train ride and mine tour and were looking for good, cheap gluten free.. and that's exactly what we found. Our boys had gf waffles that were excellent, wife had awesome gf chili, and I, not being gluten free, had a delicious burger. Highly recommend and will return again if we can.

Ate here with a friend during a visit to Georgetown and we were very pleased by the quality and freshness of the food. The bread was outstanding! Our service was actually pretty fast, but it was a rainy day and the restaurant was not crowded. This was not a fancy restaurant, but we did enjoy a delicious meal at a... More

The food and decor was not much to write home about. I had the vegetable quiche and was not impressed. It was a little dry and I'm not crazy about large pieces of carrots and green beans in a quiche. I had the sausage, kale, potato soup and it was very good. I would go back for that again. The... More

Hi there Denise D and thank you very much for your review. I am very sorry to hear that you were not pleased with you quiche. We try to cut the vegetable pieces small enough to suite each guest, but I am very sorry that they were larger pieces than you like. As always, we are more than happy to... More

Very nice restaurant for lunch. We were seated in the patio which was very pleasant. Our server was very helpful in helping select some of their favorites to eat for lunch. The sandwiches were overstuffed and very tasty. I noticed they had quite a few inside tables for winter use. The restaurant was not very busy went we arrived but... More

Our family ate lunch here before riding the Georgetown Loop Railroad. The service was slow. My burrito was pretty bland. Everyone else said their food was OK, nothing special. We were expecting some fresh homemade cooking, but experienced a meal comparable to a Denny's.

We arrived here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon after a train ride. We were very hungry and very thirsty. The sign outside on the patio said wait to be seated so we did, and did, and did, and finally a outdoor patron said to us, you will have to go and find someone we did. So I started walking inside... Hi okColorado and thank you for your review!! Yes, I agree with you, the day after the 4th of July was a very busy and chaotic day, and I am very sorry you had to wait for a table and were not greeted immediately. Unfortunately for us we were understaffed that day due to an illness. I really wish these... More

My mom and I arrived during the mid-day rush. All of the outside tables were full, so we sat inside which was fine as it was somewhat windy outside. The staff was quite busy as everyone was running here and there. After a short wait our server came over and took our orders. I had the vegetarian burrito and my... More

A party of 3 for lunch presented a problem in that they only had tables for 2 or 8 available. The staff seemed annoyed when we simply suggested that they separate the two tables used for a party of 8 to create two tables with 4 places. What a concept! After grudgingly accommodating us, we were then ignored for 15... More

Hello and thank you so very much for your review. I am so sorry that you were not sat immediately and that the staff seemed flustered and possibly annoyed. Unfortunately we do try to reserve our larger tables for larger groups, as it is a very popular time of year for large families to travel together. It is not always... More

The restaurant is located in one of the many original 1800's homes in Georgetown. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, depending on the weather. We chose to sit indoors. The restaurant has an extensive menu, yet nothing specifically for the children, so we adapted for our 2-67 yr-old group. The fresh fruit bowl and quiche were definite highlights. There... More
