always good

Been here a few times, we enjoy the atmosphere, the layout is great with smaller rooms around several fires.

We visitied the Punch Bowl in for sunday dinner. The food was amazing and there was plenty of it! the servies was quick and good and staff were welcoming. The inn itself had a good atmosphere and a nice country pub feel.

Visited on a an early Saturday evening with my family. This was our second visit since the ownership by this pub and hotel group. I could no complain about the staff or service as this was excellent, but the food was disappointing . The fish pie was mush with not solid pieces of fish in sight, although had a good... More

Don't go there on a Saturday. Booked but had to wait over an hour and numerous complaints before we were shown to a table. Wine is totally overpriced and can add nearly 100% to the bill.

It was interesting to read of the previous visitor who made a critical review of the staff ... The last time four of us had a meal there we had the usual grumpy and unwelcoming girl behind the bar ( the second time this has happenred ) and we decided that we would not re-visit the pub again. A shame... More

I stopped here for lunch on the way from Surrey to Newcastle. We just came across it, and wow weren't we pleased?! Gorgeous food in a great atmosphere, so good that we booked to come back on the way back to Surrey the following day! Had a roast dinners, all gorgeous, and whilst I ordered roast sirloin (yum!) I also... More

17 of us for Sunday lunch 10 adults and 7 kids all very happy after some excellent food. Service was great and we were recommended an excellent wine that was not on the list, but was only £20 a bottle. Will be back for more.

Went for lunch last Friday. Been years since my last visit. Very good lunch - beautifully presented tasty food - the sticky toffee pudding was superb! Staff chatty and friendly - already recommended to friends.

This is a great pub, good food, good beer, music on Thursdays . The problem is the staff. Bad service. We went today for Sunday lunch, booked by phone for 1. 30 so we could get home to watch the 6 nations rugby. We live in the village, and ordered a drink. I told them we were eating but no... More
