First Ethiopian, Amazing!

She grinds her own spices, only buys organic, ccoks like her grandparents do?!? How is this not some $40 a plate, trendy place. A lot of meat and veggie combo. Cooking/service/product were great. Very excited to eat here again. 0 complaints.

I must admit to being a little concerned about Ethiopian cuisine. I had never tried it before but my daughter really wanted us to try this restaurant as she had heard good things. It truly was delicious! The server was helpful in describing the dishes and in her recommendations and we both very much enjoyed the food, which was filling... More

I have Celiac Disease and there are 2 restaurants that I feel completely comfortable eating at in Fort Collins. Nyala is at the top of that list! The cook/owner takes great care of her customers. The food is some of the best food that I have ever eaten. I had no idea that cabbage and mushrooms could taste so good.... More

A tiny gem just of College Ave. Greeted at the door by the owner who patiently taught us an introduction to Ethiopian foods. A fascinating complex of flavors, very different than American fare. e will return - there's lots more to learn and taste!

I usually go here with a few friends or family and order a vegetable combination, lamb and chicken dish and ask for it all on top of anjara, the Ethiopian fermented bread ( yum!). We love it. Also, if you like an authentic Chai, try theirs.

We are big fans of Ethiopian food and were excited to try out this spot in FoCo with a group of friends for lunch recently. The owner was very congenial and explained the food to those who were not familiar with it. And when we got our food it was quite good - albeit with fairly mild levels of spice... More

My partner wanted to surprise me. Wow, wow ,wow With a snowstorm blowing outside, We were wonderfully treated to fabulous Ethiopian food. We sat @ Western tables, but the authentic seating was also available. The owner, cane out and chatted us up. Wewll, worth the snowstorm to experience this fabulous little restaurant in Ft. Collins, Colorado

It wasn't bad but it is right next door to my favorite Star of India. In the interest of fairness, thought we would try Nyala. Still prefer Star of India. The waitress could not have been nicer and the fish dish I had was great.

Nyala is one of the more unique places to dine in Fort Collins. If you have never had Ethiopian food, it is hard to describe the special combination of spices used. The flavors are a treat and it is a must-have experience. This is a place that is never too busy but the service tends to be slow, nonetheless. The... More

I've eaten here many times with my wife and friends, and we've never had a bad meal. It's a little pricey compared to chain restaurants, but you have to remember that all of the food is prepared by one person, and after you order it. The 3 meat sampler (lamb, beef & chicken) is my favorite, and all of the... More
