It wasn't bad but it is right next door to my favorite Star of India. In the interest of fairness, thought we would try Nyala. Still prefer Star of India. The waitress could not have been nicer and the fish dish I had was great.

Nyala is one of the more unique places to dine in Fort Collins. If you have never had Ethiopian food, it is hard to describe the special combination of spices used. The flavors are a treat and it is a must-have experience. This is a place that is never too busy but the service tends to be slow, nonetheless. The... More

I've eaten here many times with my wife and friends, and we've never had a bad meal. It's a little pricey compared to chain restaurants, but you have to remember that all of the food is prepared by one person, and after you order it. The 3 meat sampler (lamb, beef & chicken) is my favorite, and all of the... More

This is one of the hidden gems in a foodie town. The proprietor and chef interacts with her guests when possible and the service by the wait staff is superb. Best of all, the food is addictingly delicious and the experience is top notch.

The food is kind of bland/there aren't a lot of options and the experience is always a little awkward (lots of explaining/hand-holding). They have kind of strict rules about sharing, which ends up making it more expensive than I'd like it to be.

If you already know you enjoy Ethiopian food, try this place -- it won't disappoint. If you've never tried Ethiopian food, you're in for a treat. It's somewhat spicy, on par with Mexican food, and is served on injera, which is a bread that's more like a gigantic, very spongy pancake. Nyala's will offer you utensils, but don't use them... The food is really great and pretty inexpensive for a sit down restaurant. The only problem is I went on a busy night and it took the one waitress working the restaurant a very long time to get our orders and it took the kitchen a long time to have our food ready. I would still definitely go back for... More

My family was in Ft. Collins yesterday and went in search of a restaurant with meat from grass-fed animals. When eating out, generally the only affordable option is lamb. Local middle-eastern restaurants did not have lamb available, so we expanded our search and were pleased that we did. At Nyala we were made to feel welcome and tried two of... More

The place had great ambiance...the decor was great, music was the perfect volume and the traditional seating was very neat. The wait staff was very helpful but a little stretched while we were there. The food was very good...the injera bread was a very different and tasty experience. The main portion was great, both in flavor and presentation...and the kid's... More
