Best oysters in Colorado

The selection was great. They knew how to properly shuck the oyster unlike many places that leave broken off she'll inside of it. It was odd ordering them individually instead of by the dozen or half dozen. Besides that great atmosphere and amazing oysters... Something I did not expect in a land... read more

We were in Fort Collins for our son's graduation from CSU. We went to Jax upon our arrival on Thursday evening and had the best service from Jose, that we decided to go back on graduation day. Jose and Sam went above and beyond with their service! The Happy hour is out of this world! Food is great and the... More

Was at a business dinner and it was recommended by a previous patron. Salmon was great, the other entrees that were carried by also looked great. Could not pass on desert so I ordered one. The waiter came out and apologized that what I ordered was not available, then presented me with an alternate on the manager. It was also... More

Try the calamari, it's the biggest and best I've ever had. The lobster BLT is pretty good too. Don't forget to mention if it is a birthday or anniversary you are celebrating so you get your free chocolate cheesecake! This place is always packed, that's a good sign that you will enjoy your meal.

Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar in Old Town Fort Collins is one of our favorite places to go! The oysters are awesome, as are the peel & eat shrimp, mussels and just about everything on the menu is worth bragging about. For a land-locked state like Colorado we're fortunate to have such a great place to eat seafood! Juan...our... More

Very impressed with the variety and volume of fish choices on the menu, flown in fresh daily according to our excellent server, . A difficult choice with so many tempting options from the chef, we chose tuna tartar and calamari starters, followed by two mains: a lobster gnocchi and sobu noodle bowl with pork shoulder and fish~not a combination you... My father and I went here because we were wanting to try fresh oysters. We were not disappointed. The waitress was very helpful in helping us with our decisions and with any questions that we had. Eating oysters for the first time is a daunting experience. The oysters tasted fresh, according to our new tastes. The entrees were tasty as... More

The staff here really out-do themselves; from an immediate table during dinner time with no reservation to special dietary requests - no one faltered! On top of all this, the food is very good. Shrimp & Grits, Fort Collins Salad, Mussels & Frites, Ahi Poke, Wedge...all delicious!!! The only falter was the Butterscotch Pudding itself...very rubbery as if there was... More

Excellent charming service, nicely decorated, busy but not too loud. Good seafood especially for the happy hour. Others selections were interesting but i couldn’t eat some of everything Prices reasonable but isn't suppose to be very fancy. White paper instead of linen so they are shooting for the above average experience without going overboard. Drinks were very good, and wine... More

Reserved a table thru Open Table and we were seated towards the back at a High Top, while not the most romantic for Valentines Day it wasn't as bad as the couple across from us that had to share a table with only a small divider between them. Osyters were OK for a LAND LOCKED state, don't expect them to... More
