Overpriced, under-delivered

Was disappointed in the lunch my gf and I recently had. Overpriced, small portions, not that great (I had the pot roast- in a "Mexican" restaurant; I was curious).

The Mexican food here is great, and the atmosphere seems like old Evergreen which is nice. They have recently changed where they get their food and it's quite an improvement.

2 of us went in for lunch during a workday. We each ordered a rellano and a taco from the a la cart menu. Absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the bill came to just over $20 (including sodas) but there was so little food there we had to stop at the Loaf and Jug for corndogs after.

Great Food. Upscale Mexican in Evergreen. Food is fresh, homemade and a great value for the price and atmosphere. Most times I go are after work, so I sit in the "bar area" (not at the bar). The seating area in the back area (main dining) typically has families. I like the separation, as typically kids are not in the... More

better than it was, but service is a tad slow. If not in a hurry....nice! Good patio seating in the summer.

Whippletree has a new menu - much more interesting than the old one with it's same old Mexican fare. I especially like the various tacos - tropical fish, portobello with sweet potatoes and tequila line chicken. Instead of ordering the ordinary chips and salsa, try the dip trio - guacamole, mango/papaya salsa and quesa fondido - YUM! Happily they have... More

Stopped here for an appetizer and a drink. Not that many people in the restaurant but there were four servers plus the bar tender. Unfortunately the servers seemed more interested in talking to each other and the two regulars at the bar then they were interested in doing their job. On the up side, the food was delicious and we... More

Whippletree has been an Evergreen staple for years. They have finally brought in a new chef and menu - a big improvement. The locals are hoping that the service level and decor can eventually improve as well. It seems they need more staff (bartenders, waitstaff and hosts) And the back room is still depressing/dingy and doesn't match the exciting new... More

The new menu is a great change for Whippletree. Who knew I would be such a fan of kale. The patio is a nice place to meet friends for an after work drink. The interior is old building rustic as you can see from the exterior. Very casual.

We liked the whippletree before they changed the menu and visited occasionally. They used to have very good green chili. The chef is trying to make this little dive into something with upscale food and it just doesn't work. We have tried it once with the new menu and won't go back.
