Ok so we've lived here for 2 years and have given this place a few chances to wow us. Time after time is the same. Poor unfriendly service with a super slow kitchen. They advertised they had a new menu so we thought we'd give it one more chance. Super slow kitchen again and their new menu is worse than... More

My wife and I selected this restaurant in Bergen Park after hiking the Chief Mountain trail, based on online reviews. The Whipple Tree Margarita is very good. The salsa is homemade (OK, but not very spicy)--add some guacamole for zest. The Mexican burger is served on a flour tortilla; the burger taste is overwhelmed by the sauces. The burger plate... More

Having been a patron of the Whippletree since it's inception it was sad to see a 35 year old institution turned on it's head. While some change is always good to wipe the slate clean and californicate the menu was not necessary. So much 'charred, smoked' that it is off-putting. I think there should be a nod to the things... We went to Whippletree on Saturday night to try the new Cowboy Prime Rib Special. It is a 12-oz piece of prime rib, with an onion-bacon marmalade, grilled roasted chili corn-on-the-cob and garlic mashed potatoes for $22. It was FANTASTIC!! We used to have favorites from the old menu and they are history... but I am beginning to warm up... More

The new menu is great! We had the ceviche, carne asada fajitas, and an ala carte chili relleno. All were delicious. I especially loved the new preparation of the chili relleno. Best around – and transformed from gloppy to gourmet. Our server was Rachelle, and she was pretty awesome. The runner at first brought out a cold chili relleno, but... More

We sat outside during our stop on Forth of July. The patio was comfortable and sunny. I understand they have new owners and menu. Tortilla soup and salad were very good and fresh. Chimichanga was grilled, crispy and contained parts of chicken that should not have been included such as skin, gristle and unrecognized parts. I waited to show our... More

Whippletree has been a restaurant that we would visit at least once a week. Always reliable, you knew what to expect, reasonably priced and the world's best salsa! No longer! All our favorites from the "old" menu have been removed and the replacements are just not good. Serving temp is lukewarm at best, very little seasoning and odd sides -... More

Our family has been coming to the Whip for 35 years or more, and the food and service was good, and reliable -- now the chef and menu have changed completely, and our meal tonight was SUCH a disappointment! Their chile rellenos have always been my example of what a good chile relleno should be -- full, juicy, fried crispy.... More

We have been eating at the Whip since it was established and were most disappointed in the food today (June 23, 2014). It is highly unlikely that we will return. All of the original items had great flavor & taste whereas the new menu items were just not up to par especially the watery salsa. Big disappointment as the Whip... More
