Top Notch Service and Food

This is a great spot for a romantic dinner. My husband even commended the service. Your drink never goes more than half empty when there's another in front of you. The timing of the courses was spot on, without the "where is our food" waiting. I cannot commend the service enough. We were... read more

If you want a first class meal in an adult environment with great service at a fair price, this is your place. We started out each having a caesar salad and the bread was fresh baked, warm and not at all doughy. My wife had a superb Ribeye steak and baked potato and I had Scottish Salmon and loaded baked... My wife and I started going to J. A's many years ago because we'd heard the prime rib was incredible (it was), but soon found ourselves at Fleming's Steakhouse in the same neighborhood. Part of the reason to switch was that it took FOREVER to get a table at J. A's (often 90 minutes). We decided that, for my birthday,... More

We've eaten at J Alexanders on multiple occasions and have always been happy with the service and amazing food. It is a chain, but the quality of service & food is always great! The Steak Maui is the best here - an amazing steak with a teriyaki sauce. It's relatively easy to get in to and always has great new... More

The table service was about as fast and efficient as one could desire without feeling rushed. Time to chat but each course came at the right time and dirty dishes disappeared. Wait person was smiley, cheery and knowledgeable although the menu choice for each course was very limited. Watching the open kitchen with wood burning grill explained why as the... More

J Alexanders has become one of our favorite dinner spots. We enjoy the atmosphere (reminds us of nice classy restaurants from back in the 80s) - and what a traditional steak house is supposed to be. Staff is always professional and friendly. From the great salads, to the Ribeye, Prime Rib and Carrot cake desert, J Alexanders has never disappointed... More

Great atmosphere, fabulous Redwood Salad, fast and polite service. I would recommend this for a nice lunch or steakhouse dinner. The menu has a great variety and my lunch companion suggested at least half a dozen favorites. I look forward to going back and trying out new items.

This is a suburban steakhouse with a little bit of panache. The atmosphere is why my husband and I sneak away there every once in awhile. Have a drink in the bar, just to get away and share some QT---plan your next staycation, or just relax. Order the fire grilled artichokes with remoulade and one of their yummy mixed drinks.... More

We were seated promptly, had Open Table reservation, Sat evening, came with 2 friends, good waiter, good prime rib and steak, but for the price an average suburban dinner
