Not very good compared to place across the street. Lewis sweet shop much better. I got a chocolate shake and barely could taste chocolate in it! Thin and flavorless. When I asked where the chocolate was, she responded with " it's in there"!!! Don't waste your time.

This place is awesome for both a delicious desert or a quick bite to eat. The people always super nice which is WAY more than you can expect from the place across the street, Lewis Sweet Shop.

This is a great stop for a quick bite to eat. It's essentially an ice cream / hamburger stand with a few tables inside and a few more outside for when weather permits. They offer primarily burgers fries and ice cream but my daughter wasn't disappointed with her chicken nuggets either! This is not fancy but it's tasty and super... More

We found this restaurant a while back, quite by accident. We were looking for a place on Hwy 40 that served buffalo burgers and a local said: "Try the Empire Dairy King." So, we did and since that time, stop in every-so-often when we're on our way via Hwy 40 to/from Tabernash, Colorado. Re: the Empire Dairy King, I usually... More

Came here today after a hike. They were busy with a line out the door. It seems about half of the customers do carry out ice cream but I came for a burger, fries and ice cream after a hike. I settled on a buffalo burger and a cappuccino chip malt. There was a table available inside so I sat... More

We stopped off here on our drive from Grand Lake to Pikes Peak. To be honest, we were looking for a place with a bathroom!! Decided to have one of their many, unique chicken sandwiches. I had the pesto provolone and my friend had the chipotle raspberry. They were both made fresh and were very good.

Old Fashioned good stuff! Many different choices and very refreshing after you are done checking out the lake after 4 wheeling.

We stop at the Dairy King every time we have a chance, on our way to and from the mountains. The food is typical drive in, but very well done. We had very good hamburgers and fried zucchini and onion rings. The ice cream, especially the soft twists and shakes are some of the best anywhere. The local staff handles... More

A lot may change over the years, but this favorite stop on the way to the deep rockies or back to Denver has stayed delightfully frozen in time since I was a kid. A burger, basket of fries, and an EXCELLENT chocolate malt (don't forget the extra malt...it's well worth it!!) make the perfect pit stop. Leave some change in... More
