Great local vibe

My husband wanted to try game, and our hotel recommend gashouse. Overall the hunting lodge/bar atmosphere was the highlight. You definitely felt the hometown vibe and the staff was quick to offer suggestions. The game and sea food is fresh daily which is very unique. Was it the best food I have... read more

I read about their happy hours offer for drinks and app on the Vail paper and my wife and I decided to try out their menu this afternoon. We ordered 2 beer and 1 spare rib appetizer and entree . When I received the bill I noted that they had not honored their happy hours 30% discount on the drinks... More

But I would definitely recommend it.

We went during late lunch which did not have the entree that I wanted on the lunch menu, but they let me order off the dinner menu. Our waitress's name was Kristen and was very knowledgeable of the menu as well as how the dishes were prepared, My wife ordered a bowl of potato and bacon soup which was very... More

The Gas House is a sight to see, tons of Colorado history. Several early pictures of what Edwards, CO looked like back in the 1800s. My favorite thing to look at is the collection of expired annual ski passes that many have donated. Some date back to the early 1980s. The food is delicious, if you are a crab cake... More

We were trying to show Colorado off to our friends from Louisiana, and this place was perfect. Colorado mountain town atmosphere with a gourmet menu. My wife had the lobster, shrimp and steak combo platter and it was awesome. I had the elk platter with quail and bison sausage. Awesome. French onion soup was very good. Our friends had trout... All of the food here is great, I have been here several times and take our out of town guests here. The Building is historic and the atmosphere is real colorado. They serve game dishes along with great everyday dishes. They may be the best burgers in the valley!

We had a nice meal- Idaho Trout, Salmon, boar sausages, ribs... The decorations on the walls were a bit disturbing. It was if we were sitting at a taxidermy convention. Everywhere was filled with a stuffed animal- a head or the whole body- a few animals were sticking out into the aisle so you had to step aside to get... More

We choose this restaurant for the variety of game meat sampler appetizers. I made reservations through Open Table and tried for a number of days to get reservations at 7pm but only got 8:15 or later. I finally just reserved an 8:30 seating and had high hopes for the restaurant that seemed extremely popular. However when we go there, there... More

Buffalo ribs and quail burned charcoal black. Perhaps the worst meal I've ever paid for. I literally had to suck on a cough drop and brush my teeth three times to get rid of the bad taste. This was after picking around the parts that were non edible.

A friend chose this restaurant because we had a lot of hunters in our group. It is a neat restaurant with a menu that features many choices of game meats. They have an appetizer sampler that features the customer favorites that is a great place to start if you aren't sure what you like. They also have good ole angus... More
