Off the beaten path

You have to know where you are going to find it, past the Durango lodge. Not a lot of seating inside so we sat outside with our group. Try the sweet potato fries- very good. The group likes the wings, brisket, pulled pork. We're out of ribs though.

We stopped by this hidden restaurant because we kept smelling the delicious food every time we walked out of our hotel. We went there on August 18th while on our 12 day road trip. This was definitely one of the best meals we had on our trip. The ribs, sweet potato fries, and corn on the cob were delicious!! My... More

tried their brisket yesterday, chewy chewy. Their burgers are usually pretty good, and the location is convenient to town (and the train). the standard setter for burgers in my mind is James Ranch north of town. Serious Texas is abou BBQt as good; their smoked turkey is excellent.

This place is a nice little hidden gem in Durango that can certainly fulfill your BBQ cravings when you're in the middle of the mountains. Our favorite thing to get is the alligator po'boy! Yes, I said alligator. Having lived in Florida for nearly nine years, we were overjoyed to see they had gator (actually did the happy food dance)... More

We ate there last year and again last week and I was impressed. I bought a full rack of ribs and ate 3 meals off them. The cobbler was only average but still good. The service seemed a little slow but very friendly. Hard to find but worth the search. Very close to the train terminal.

The BBQ at this restaurant is GREAT. Sitting out under the trees and enjoying the occasional puff of smoke from the coal-fired steam engines was a definite experience. If you enjoy BBQ, this place is a must-stop.

We ended up here as a way to connect with a 2 day advance wedding group. We were a big group (10+) and taken care of as if we were small couples. New Orleans based BBQ menu and you can go por boy or alligator if you want. Next to historic train, best way to experience the train without taking... More

We had the pulled pork platter and a burger. Everything was very good including the sides. This is self seating and have the option of dining inside, outside under shade trees on picnic tables, or a bar type railing on the porch, we chose the porch. This is not a fancy restaurant but a very good local spot. If you... More

Stumbled onto this place by accident. Nice young, helpful hostess/cashier/waitress. The gumbo with cornbread, po boys, and sliced beef dinner with beans and fries were excellent! Cold beer. What more do you need? Oh good homemade sauce too.

Being locals we decided to give T's a try for somewhere new to eat. It's a order and pay at the counter then your food is delivered to you. My husband ordered a 1/2 pound of catfish and a 1/4 pound of sausage with side. When our food was delivered he ask for some tarter sauce for his fish. We... More
