Good Food, fast service.

If you want Indian food, this is the place to get it. Samosas that are perfection, lamb and yak dishes to die for. Food stays with you and keeps you warm and full for your Colorado adventures. My husband was excited to visit this restaurant in particular and we were not disappointed.

If you want Indian, Nepali food that is warm, well spiced and savory, this is your place. There is not a bad dish on their menu. Each time we visit Durango, this is one of the first dining places we hit. I am from San Fran., where Thai/Nepali food is always excellent. Himalayan Kitchen may be better than any of... More

I ate supper at the Himalayan two consecutive nights, both meals with choices from the chef's special menu. One was a very good shrimp dish; the other was a Nepali stew with chicken, lamb, noodles, some veggies, an excellent choice after a day of cross-country skiing. Service was very prompt, same server both nights, he remembered me the second night.... More

I ate a very nice buffet lunch. The buffet was clean, fresh and a nice selection of Himalayan and Indian food. The salad selections were excellent but the savory side could have had more examples of Himalayan food. The tandoori chicken was superb! The restaurant and bathrooms were clean but my tablecloth should have been cleaned from the night before.... More

When I saw the Yak on the menu we had to try it. This is mostly an Indian restrauant with some additional interesting Asian dishes. The curry was fantastic and went well with everything. The Yak dumplings are delicious and taste like beef.

Went for lunch. Went early so the dishes would be fresh. I was pleased with the food and the service. Two of the plates I grabbed had dried food on them though.

After being seated I was told to help myself to the buffet. No one ever offered to get me a drink or ever came back and checked on me for that matter. The owner was greeting patrons that were obvious regulars with hugs. He never asked if I needed anything. I would not return to this place.

This is our second visit to Himalayan Kitchen, not our 2nd to Durango. It's wonderful to have something out of the ordinary in a small town. Both my husband and I had specials - him the Mixed Grill and I the Kathmandu Sekuwa (marinated chicken breast, done in a clay oven). It did not disappoint. There was more than we... More

The service is little slow and the ambiance is good. This hotel is in the middle of downtown. Appetizers are good but the gravy is not typical Indian food. There are parking lots available at the backside.
