Good food

We ate and had the yak. Very good. The salad is a must and can be easily split between 2 dinners. Very generous servings. It appears to be a local favorite.

Never having eaten Himalayan food we decided to give this restaurant a try. We shared dishes since we weren't certain exactly what we would be served or how much we would like it. We started with samosas. The cumin seasoning was very flavorful and good. The mixed grill platter gave us a good selection of chicken, shrimp and lamb. We... More

Except for Mexican, Chinese, and a few Thai restaurants, the Four Corners region is a desert for ethnic restaurants. Therefore, we can be thankful that we have Himalayan Kitchen in downtown Durango. The owner and chefs are all Nepali and the food is authentic. I have only visited for their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, served daily. So, my comments are based... More

We ate lunch here and got the buffet. For $9.99 it's very good value and all you can eat. About 3/4 of it was vegetarian, plus only a few dishes with meat in them (lamb, chicken, and tandoori chicken too). The location is right in downtown, and the atmosphere is pretty nice. Lots of seating available. The food was flavorful... More

I always come for the lunch buffet. The buffet is filled with authentic food, all you can eat, and attentive servers. Right on Main Street.

We finally made it back for the lunch buffet where you don't have to be a world traveler to eat a delicious meal. Choices were few but all were great (and labeled). By far the best food for the money anywhere around. Even better, we found a detailed brochure describing their many entrees. (If the staff had bothered to provide... More

I always feel like family here, the food is rich and delicious and the chai is great! I enjoy the vegetarian dishes but the lamb is also good. The buffet is great and it comes with naan bread.

I must admit I found portions small and the food a bit bland. The rice was bland, the korma was bland, though I will say the cheese na'an was good. The cheese was bland but the bread was soft and just a little doughy.

Nice change, combination of Indian and Asian. Lamb and especially Yak aren't on a lot of menus. They are very prevalent and nicely done here.

When we we visited Durango we found this lovely restaurant with good food and nice people. A family restaurant?? We had a curry with shrimps and a beef dish with rice! Both delicious.
