Description: Steamworks Brewing Co. Opened its doors in Durango in September 1996. A favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike, the brewpub has much more to offer than award-winning craft beer. Known as a town meeting place, Steamworks enjoys a bustling, fun environment. Steamworks' culinary program is unmatched in the region in both breadth and quality of offerings. The "gastropub" fare includes regionally-raised meats and sustainable seafood. Healthy salads, delicious pizzas, spicy Southwestern-style dishes, and vegetarian & gluten-free offerings provide something for everyone who's hungry. The Steam Engine Lager is "arguably the best American - Style Amber Lager in the world" as it has garnered four Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) over the years and also has taken a Silver Medal at the World Beer Cup (WBC). Steamworks has won a total of twelve GABF medals, and two WBC medals. The brewpub maintains up to 18 styles of beer on tap.

We found Steamworks via the Untapped app, so we weren't surprised that the beer was excellent. But the food and service were so great on our first night that we came back for more the next evening. Did have to wait a bit for a table, obviously a popular place, but it gave us a chance to sample one of... More

This restaurant has a fun atmosphere and good, filling food. We ate there twice during our 2-day stay in Durango with our young children. There IS a wait, but we sat outside in the "courtyard" (bar) area and snacked on peanuts. If college kids annoy you, look out....but that's anywhere off Main St. Servers are friendly. Quinoa burger is excellent,... More

We put our name in at 7:30. We just left the establishment at 10:30. A complete waste of time! We were told the wait would be 50 minutes, so we decided to wait. Big mistake! We were seated after 1 1/2 hours. On the way in to our table, we saw empty tables and lots of waitstaff joking with each... More

Always good food and beer here. We have come here whenever we are in the Durango area and even though it may be a few years in between, the place is consistently great. Nice atmosphere, good wait staff,... We had a hamburger this visit and we actually split it with fries. Perfect lunch, medium rare burger with green chile, etc...... More

Searched for recommended places in Durango on-line and this was highly rated. I whole heartedly agree. Great menu consisting of not just 'bar food' but nice healthy selections and wide array of beers - local and home brewed. I had a burger to die for, but the menus offered fish, steaks, vegetarian and pizzas too. Great atmosphere. Bartender was great.... More

Sorry to say this is not worth the effort. The lines are long, the menu is normal and the service was poor.

We just wanted to try a beer and the hostess pointed us to the outdooe beer garden. There was no service and a bartender who saw us and never offered a menu. There are a myriad of beers and they are all drinkable.

If you are even the least bit interested in microbreweries, you need to make a stop at Steamworks on 2nd Avenue. We stayed at the Leland House about a block south of there and found ourselves at Steamworks three times the week we were in town. It's not only a great place for lunch and dinner, but also just for... More

I went to this place with four hungry kids on a Thursday night. There were plenty of empty tables, but the hostess desk kept everyone waiting a long time. The bar was packed and the televisions were playing the Tour de France (awesome for those of us who are cycling fans). All the food was very good, but the service... More

My family and i ate here for lunch. We sat by the window and it was nice to look out at downtown Durango. We all enjoyed their homemade root beer. I ordered the BLT wrap with the beer battered fries.... AMAZING!! The wrap was so fresh and the fries were crunch and were flavorful. Definitely a place to check out!!!.
