Steamworks Brewing Co. Opened its doors in Durango in September 1996. A favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike, the brewpub has much more to offer than award-winning craft beer. Known as a town meeting place, Steamworks enjoys a bustling, fun environment. Steamworks' culinary program is unmatched in the region in both breadth and quality of offerings. The "gastropub" fare includes regionally-raised meats and sustainable seafood. Healthy salads, delicious pizzas, spicy Southwestern-style dishes, and vegetarian & gluten-free offerings provide something for everyone who's hungry. The Steam Engine Lager is "arguably the best American - Style Amber Lager in the world" as it has garnered four Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) over the years and also has taken a Silver Medal at the World Beer Cup (WBC). Steamworks has won a total of twelve GABF medals, and two WBC medals. The brewpub maintains up to 18 styles of beer on tap.

Casual, good pub food, great for groups

We had a large group of 16. Service kept right up with our drink and food orders. Friendly, relaxed, but attentive. The food is just what you want from a pub, and the snacking peanuts are excellent. I think this place is best for a group more than couples.

Stopped by here to order a beer and takeout on a Wednesday night in July. Received prompt service at the bar w/r/t taking my takeout order and recommending and subsequently handing me a superb craft brew. Our food was brought out within 20 minutes of being ordered. The 2 burgers and fries were good. The beer bread could have gotten... More

We visited on a recommendation from a shop owner and glad we listened! We were seated right away and were able to enjoy the beautiful view and weather on the deck. Two of us tried their beer and both liked our selections. The food was also outstanding. They had a large menu so lots of choices! The waitstaff was attentive... More

We had enjoyed the Steamworks Colorado Koelsch at a small upstart brewery in Silverton, which was so tasty, we made a point to visit the source. They are adept at expertly brewing several styles, which included our enjoyment of a Belgium Flanders Red sour. Another wonderful testament to the professionalism of this fine establishment, is that all of the servers... More

Excellent selection of beers, especially when trying a flight of six. We often have the sliders at brew pubs or restaurants (especially at happy hour), mainly as something simple to accompany the beers. My wife ordered the sliders here. Compared to other places, the sliders here were a "3" on a scale of 1-10 (ten being BEST). Meat overcooked and... More

Rating this on the brew-pub scale, food was very good. One of us had a burger that was deemed one of the best ever; the other had a kale and shaved brussels sprouts salad that was big and very tasty. Add in some good beer and it's a great spot for lunch!

Have visited numerous times. First visit was with friends in 2013 and most recently in 4-2015. Beers are good and staff are willing to explain the different beers. If you sit at the bar the bartenders will let you sample. The food isn't anything amazing but proton size are worth the price. Can be loud.

We were in Durango for 3 days and went to Steamworks 3 times.. Excellent food, (worth the 30 minute wait) Had dinner and 2 late night snack visits. Loved the beer and the root beer. Meat loaf was wonderful, chicken wings were great. Great pizza and soup! Didn't find anything that wasn't fantastic!
