Steamworks Brewing Co. Opened its doors in Durango in September 1996. A favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike, the brewpub has much more to offer than award-winning craft beer. Known as a town meeting place, Steamworks enjoys a bustling, fun environment. Steamworks' culinary program is unmatched in the region in both breadth and quality of offerings. The "gastropub" fare includes regionally-raised meats and sustainable seafood. Healthy salads, delicious pizzas, spicy Southwestern-style dishes, and vegetarian & gluten-free offerings provide something for everyone who's hungry. The Steam Engine Lager is "arguably the best American - Style Amber Lager in the world" as it has garnered four Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) over the years and also has taken a Silver Medal at the World Beer Cup (WBC). Steamworks has won a total of twelve GABF medals, and two WBC medals. The brewpub maintains up to 18 styles of beer on tap.

Great place for burgers and beer

Fun place to go for fun-type food, drink and lively atmosphere. Was there for Super Bowl this year and it was packed with people having a great time.

We stopped for lunch on our way from the airport to the slopes (Purgatory!) We eat here each time we visit; the atmosphere is rustic and quaint. Of course their house beers are a big draw! Being vegetarian is sometimes a challenge but I settled on the quinoa burger (minus the feta and sauce.) It was excellent! The side salad... More

We went there to have a an afternoon beer. We loved the location off the street, so parking was easy. We loved the train themed vibe. Food looked good, but we did not eat there, too early when we were there.

We've been here several times and have enjoyed it. The Cajun boil is a favorite! Don't be afraid to try one of the local brews too, the husband gives them good reviews. (I'm a wine drinker myself) If you don't go during an "off" time you may have a fairly long wait, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

Although this is a very popular restaurant with the college kids, I have not had the best of experiences over the years. I have had 2 guests and myself become ill on different occasions from the hamburgers. Not sure why that is, but don't feel like chancing it again.

Casual spot just off Main Street ~ we enjoyed the excellent beers (a dark stout & a refreshing kolsch) ~ the sliders (appie) were quite tasty. They serve four of them & they come with pancetta and swiss cheese, great for sharing or if you are not too hungry!

Steamworks Brewing came highly recommended from some local friends. We managed to hit up Steamworks during the infamous Golf Game during Snowdown. The bar side of the restaurant is well stocked with some impressive and rare bottles of alcohol. They had a bottle of Spring 44 Gin made in Loveland, Colorado which you don't see at every bar. The bar... More

Our three generation family of 7 ate dinner at Steamworks last night. The kids' menu had plenty of choices. The burgers and brews were yummy. Our waiter was patient with the children-6,4,2 and with the adults as we tried to decide what to order. He was very helpful, attentive and informative.

The place can use a face lift. The staff is friendly and at times seems over worked. Nice place to grab a decent beer and some average pub grub after skiing the mountain. The bar is adequate but if you just want a beer an peanut the tables in the bar maybe of limits. Because of lack of competition this... More
