Description: Steamworks Brewing Co. Opened its doors in Durango in September 1996. A favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike, the brewpub has much more to offer than award-winning craft beer. Known as a town meeting place, Steamworks enjoys a bustling, fun environment. Steamworks' culinary program is unmatched in the region in both breadth and quality of offerings. The "gastropub" fare includes regionally-raised meats and sustainable seafood. Healthy salads, delicious pizzas, spicy Southwestern-style dishes, and vegetarian & gluten-free offerings provide something for everyone who's hungry. The Steam Engine Lager is "arguably the best American - Style Amber Lager in the world" as it has garnered four Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) over the years and also has taken a Silver Medal at the World Beer Cup (WBC). Steamworks has won a total of twelve GABF medals, and two WBC medals. The brewpub maintains up to 18 styles of beer on tap.

My wife and I moved to Durango 3 months ago and have been to Steamworks at least 5 times already both with friends and just by ourselves. Great atmosphere. I really love the Face Plant lager but if they don't have that I usually go with the 3rd Eye Pale Ale. Their New England Clam Chowder is surprising really good.... More

Recommended from our Jeep Tour Guide. Unlike the Ore House recommendation this was another family restaurant with a wide food selection. I am not a beer drinker so I cannot comment on the Beer. However the food was great and again the server was knowledgeable of the selection on the menu. Prices again were reasonable.

We ate here one evening after spending all day riding the train. It was a short walk from the hotel. We waited about 15 min to get seated but there was a lady doing balloon animals outside. We ordered a meat pizza and my wife had a large salad also. I tried a Belgian ale and later the Third Eye... More

We had to wait for 20 minutes. They have a lot of good beers to choose from. Waiter gave us a good advise for the right beer. Food was ok. The children liked it to throw the peanut shells on the floor, although this make a messy impression to me. Restaurant is build around the brewery. A nice place to... More

Meal was average but had to wait 30 mins for table. Went on previous reviews but not that impressed. To noisy with children. Beer good, staff friendly. Service was quick.

This restaurant has many choices of beer and fabulous burgers. It also has a menu of everything from salads to full dinners. Very enjoyable. Always a stop when we're in Durango.

We make it a point to eat here every time we are in Durango. Food is always good and the atmosphere is lively. My husband loved his burger this time around and said it was one of the best he has had in a long time. Have never ordered the Cajun seafood in a bucket, but it looks good.

Returning from Zion National Park, we got to Durango at 11PM, checked into our hotel, and didn't get to dinner until after that. Preferring a local flavor over the national chains that might still be open, the hotel recommended Steamworks. The restaurant is huge with brewing apparatus in the middle, a long bar and lots of tables. Their craft beers... More

The place was crowded on a Monday night so my dining companion and I sat at the bar. It made for good people watching. We had the Steam Engine Lager (of course, we had ridden the train that day), the Queso Dip (delicious), and the small Veggie Pizza (which was tasty, huge, and loaded with toppings). All in all, this... More
