Steamworks Brewing Co. Opened its doors in Durango in September 1996. A favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike, the brewpub has much more to offer than award-winning craft beer. Known as a town meeting place, Steamworks enjoys a bustling, fun environment. Steamworks' culinary program is unmatched in the region in both breadth and quality of offerings. The "gastropub" fare includes regionally-raised meats and sustainable seafood. Healthy salads, delicious pizzas, spicy Southwestern-style dishes, and vegetarian & gluten-free offerings provide something for everyone who's hungry. The Steam Engine Lager is "arguably the best American - Style Amber Lager in the world" as it has garnered four Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) over the years and also has taken a Silver Medal at the World Beer Cup (WBC). Steamworks has won a total of twelve GABF medals, and two WBC medals. The brewpub maintains up to 18 styles of beer on tap.

Durango Brewpub

Durango now enjoys six different brewpubs, all with some nice craft beer selections. Steamworks and Ska have the best beers, I'd give an edge to Steamworks for more comfortable surroundings and better food options. Catch the Friday evening drawing for some nice swag - including a free mini-keg.

We were in Durango for a family vacation and had read the reviews on trip advisor so decided to go for dinner. Definitely make a reservation (if they take them?) we got there at 5:30 and the wait was 45 min. We decided to walk around while we waited and they sent a text within half an hour that or... More

Family of 5 and we all LOVED our meals. I think we touched on almost all sections of the menu - salad, 5 cheese mac, hamburger, steak and fish! Our waitress was a rockstar and was super knowledgeable on the menu and brews. We tried a beer flight and had a nice assortment of beer based on what we told... More

You might think soup and salad isn't a meal, but here it is. The chopped salad is fantastic. Starts with a bed of arugula topped with the absolute best smoked salmon, sundried tomatoes, pepitos, cous cous, local corn and chopped tomatoes. Sometimes some dried cranberries. A creamy, smoky, smooth gorgonzola dressing is served on the side and compliments the salad... More

We really enjoyed our meal at Steamworks. My son wanted to go there for his birthday meal when we were in the area. There was a wait for a table, but we were able to leave a cell phone number for a text when our table was ready. The food is interesting and very tasty. We had everything from appetizers... More

If you are in Durango, you better not miss out on this place! This is my favorite place in Durango. If you are into beer, get a Conductor IPA - a fabulous beer with any food! I always get their house salad with grilled chicken and a starter. This may seem too simple, but their house salad is to die... More

Came to steamworks on Easter Day for a meal before getting on the road. I was very surprised that we got right in. We had 5 and a baby so was surprised that the hostess sat us at a 4 top and added a chair and highchair to the single end of the table that was exposed. Told her that... More

Great food and a fun atmosphere. Fantastic beer selection. And, yes, I'm going to talk about the beer selection and the fact that it is a family friendly restaurant all in one review as well

This is a good place to go when you have loud kids. It's not raucous, just loud enough to not be embarrassed by your own children's decibels. Anyway, the atmosphere is like a bar/grill. The food is consistently good here. Burgers, salads, quiche, soups. It's all good. Never had a bad meal here. This is a staple for us when... More

My family wanted to try out this restaurant since it had good reviews, and we loved it! The beer that I had had great taste, and my kids loved the burgers. Our waiter was great, and the atmosphere was really awesome. Try this place out when you visit!
