Description: Steamworks Brewing Co. Opened its doors in Durango in September 1996. A favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike, the brewpub has much more to offer than award-winning craft beer. Known as a town meeting place, Steamworks enjoys a bustling, fun environment. Steamworks' culinary program is unmatched in the region in both breadth and quality of offerings. The "gastropub" fare includes regionally-raised meats and sustainable seafood. Healthy salads, delicious pizzas, spicy Southwestern-style dishes, and vegetarian & gluten-free offerings provide something for everyone who's hungry. The Steam Engine Lager is "arguably the best American - Style Amber Lager in the world" as it has garnered four Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) over the years and also has taken a Silver Medal at the World Beer Cup (WBC). Steamworks has won a total of twelve GABF medals, and two WBC medals. The brewpub maintains up to 18 styles of beer on tap.

This castle is the powerhouse super restaurant of Durango and it's been cranking out awesome brews and food for over 18 years now. Kris, Brian, Sean, Duder and a huge crew of rad people are what make this place the best in town. No matter what, Steam beats any team!!

We decided on our third night in Durango we would do a brew pub. What a wonderful surprise to find Steamworks....there were 6 of us...we ordered 2 flights of their 12 brews...a really fun way to begin our experience...., we asked for this, I don't recall seeing it on the menu. Our server was fun, engaged and very attentive. We... More

We went here on a whim after trying to decide were to eat. I ordered a mac and cheese that had green chiles and was very spicy. My girlfriend had chicken pasta that was ok. Our server was friendly and helpful but didn't mention that the mac and cheese was so spicy.

Great food, especially the steamer bucket (bring your appetite or A COUPLE OF HEARTY EATERS WITH YOU FOR THIS!). Great selection of beer. Very good service and large menu. No reservations so either come early or be prepared to wait...however, they text you when your table is ready so you can wander downtown while you wait for your table.

I am a local to Durango and have eaten everywhere. I come back here for the food and beer, but the service is terrible. Expect to wait upwards of an hour on a Friday/Saturday night due to poor service and overall busyness. The food is amazing with choices across the board- burgers, salads, pizzas, fish, and everything in between. (I... More

Spending a few days in Durango. My husband likes to try microbreweries. Steamworks had a choice of 16 beers. He thought the beer was excellent. We also ordered the pizza. It was amazingly good! I would definitely try it again. The only downside of the experience was part of the atmosphere. They give children boxes of chalk and encourage them... More
