Description: Steamworks Brewing Co. Opened its doors in Durango in September 1996. A favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike, the brewpub has much more to offer than award-winning craft beer. Known as a town meeting place, Steamworks enjoys a bustling, fun environment. Steamworks' culinary program is unmatched in the region in both breadth and quality of offerings. The "gastropub" fare includes regionally-raised meats and sustainable seafood. Healthy salads, delicious pizzas, spicy Southwestern-style dishes, and vegetarian & gluten-free offerings provide something for everyone who's hungry. The Steam Engine Lager is "arguably the best American - Style Amber Lager in the world" as it has garnered four Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) over the years and also has taken a Silver Medal at the World Beer Cup (WBC). Steamworks has won a total of twelve GABF medals, and two WBC medals. The brewpub maintains up to 18 styles of beer on tap.

A funky mix of college students and gray haired tourists....but it all worked for me. Super busy and hopping on a Saturday night, the Steamworks was our first choice. Excellent food and a great atmosphere. We started with drinks at the outside bar and moved to our table one "texted" that our table was ready. College kids working hard and... More

We stopped in during lunch during the Arts Festival. We had a pepperoni pizza and had a IPA, Red Lager, and the Slam Dunkel. We ended up going back later in the week, specifically for Slam Dunkel. The wait staff and bartenders were friendly, knowledgable about beer, and provided excellent service. Our beer recommendations from the staff were a great... More

The service here is average, as are the prices. Food is quite good but not what sets it apart. Here it is about the beer and not just quality but also variety. Got a flight and sampled some types of beers I generally dont like and actually enjoyed both their pepper and sour beers. The IPAs here are more malt... More

Went to Steamworks while visiting Durango. I had the Cajun pasta and my husband had the green apple gouda burger. Both were fantastic, but we agreed the pasta won. For beers, we had the Ale Diablo, Slam Dunkel, and Kolsh. Waiter was helpful and fun. Highly recommended!

Everyone we spoke with recommended Steamworks as a must on our trip. So, of course we had to go. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He helped select the beer that coupled perfectly with our family members meal selection. Pizza was amazing, house salad (best ever) was exceptional and the mac and cheese is now on my husbands "favorite... More

This castle is the powerhouse super restaurant of Durango and it's been cranking out awesome brews and food for over 18 years now. Kris, Brian, Sean, Duder and a huge crew of rad people are what make this place the best in town. No matter what, Steam beats any team!!

What a wonderful surprise to find Steamworks....there were 6 of us...we ordered 2 flights of their 12 brews...a really fun way to begin our experience...., we asked for this, I don't recall seeing it on the menu. Our server was fun, engaged and very attentive. We... More
