We visited for dinner midweek. With reservations we were seated immediately. Service was attentive and at just the right intervals. My cocktail was different - a cucumber gin gimlet. Perfect for a warm summer evening and really good. My daughter's steak was cooked to perfection, mine was overdone. The garlic potatoes were eye-wateringly garlicky. The organic salad was large and... More

Do not miss an opportunity to enjoy a handcrafted cocktail with local Colorado spirits. Excellent marks for the drinks. I enjoyed a ribeye steak as my entree. A nice cut of meat, generous portion, not tough. The seasoning for the steak and the mac & cheese was a little over salted and I don't consider myself sensitive in this regard.... More

Make your reservations early to enjoy this restaurant in Durango. While it is not for everyone, the food is wonderful, the service was very good and the staff was very friendly. While many may turn up their noses, the Steak Tartar was absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend giving it a try. The mac and cheese side is also well... More

Food was delicious & service was fantastic. Steaks were top notch. Sides were a la carte, which we like because we can pick what we want & share. Not cheap, but it seemed like a good value compared to other similarly priced restaurants. Do not miss the bananas foster!

What are the chances of picking a Resturant out of a book and then being blown away. Well that's what happened to us. The place was small but quaint. Very good service, and real chefs. The ribeye I ordered was over an inch thick and so juicy. The spices used made it taste great. They also had homemade bacon butter... More

Birthday dinner. Wanted the best in town. This did not disappoint. The crab legs were huge. Steaks cooked perfect. Ribeye with pepper steak sauce good. Crab and shrimp cocktail a must. Service was great.

Had the most wonderful filet supper tonight, that left me full and wanting to savor more. Our steaks were cooked to a juicy prefection. One of the best steak houses in Durango if not Colorado. The grilled asparagus was perfectly cooked. The mashed garlic potatoes has the most delicious sauce on top. The restaurant is small and quaint but the... More

My husband and I dined at the Ore House on Monday night and had a great time. We sat at the bar and the bartender, Bridget, was amazing. She is an encyclopedia for all things Durango and it was great to hear about all the history that she knows, both regarding the town and the restaurant. The food was good... More

We split a New York strip steak and two sides and emerged quite satisfied. The sides are remarkable for taste and ingenuity. The meat was perfect.

Small place; cozy, 1880's-themed atmosphere. Very nice selection of aged steaks, but here's the rub--meals are a la carte. A $40 steak on a white plate is all you get if you don't order sides for an additional charge. If you're the type that can really enjoy an aged steak and you're willing to pay for it, then you won't... More
