My husband and I went to this steakhouse after looking around downtown Durango. We had the fresh salad, baked potato and rib eye steak. The steak was just as we ordered. The server allowed us to split the entrée and it was just enough for us.

Always a great steak. Tobacco onions are really good (we call them onion strings back home). Cream corn was a little too spicy for the wife, but I liked it.

End of a long day, looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat. At first, we almost did not go inside... Very glad we did. The place is very cozy, great atmosphere. Sat at the bar as we did not have reservations (not too many seats at the bar, only about 8). They offer Colorado fare, from the food... More

Old-time Western atmosphere, pleasant hostess, great cocktails [try the French 75],wonderful salad, great steaks and loaded baked potato, efficient and pleasant server. Am I missing something? And the prices are reasonable.

This place is expensive. My wife and I split the 68 dollar chateaubriand, their most expensive entre. It was as good as I've had in a restaurant anywhere. It was cooked and seasoned correctly. The side orders were very good. The waiters were attentive. It is a small place, with interesting decorations. I wouldn't do this every day, but on... More

Had dinner with my wife after the day on the train. Not that hungry, so we both ordered the Beef Barley Stew and Calamari. Calamari was good and a lot of it. Beef Barley Stew was really soup, not thick like most stews. Tasted like it was made with beef bouillon, then watered down. Not much barley and an even... More

We decided to have an early dinner at 5:30 and it was a good thing bc the place got packed and very few tables left w/o reservation. Our steaks were OUTSTANDING, sides delish and service was outstanding. Warm and cozy atmosphere! Would def return!

Ore House consistently delivers an excellent meal, with simple items cooked to absolute perfection. It is a special treat, at my budget, but it is worth every dollar. Restaurants that manage this kind of consistency are few and far between in my experience. Enjoy!

Chateaubriand for 2 on 9/20. We are from Texas, and good steak is normal for us. This was crusty, tender, and very flavorful. Great atmosphere. Go eat here.

Great western ambience. Real western steaks. A classic! Good service, too. It's popular for a reason.
