For the same price you can go to Elway's in Denver (Cherry Creek area). A waste of your money if visiting Durango. Very busy atmosphere-crammed into a small place.. When you spend top dollar you expect a good atmosphere, not packed in like a sardine. The steaks are not reasonably priced and you pay a la carte for additional items-... More

We live in the area and have visited the Ore House many times. This trip however I found that the number of choices for entrees had decreased while the prices had increased. Sadly the quality of my food wasn't up to previous trips either. I'm hoping the chef was on vacation.

A large group of us went for dinner. The service was fine, food good but not outstanding considering the cost. A steak is about $36 and everything else is an add on....potatoe, etc. By the time you have added on a side, tax and tip you are up for $50 for a main! If money is not an option go,... More

We ate here a few years ago and gave them a good review (its why we came back this time) but this time the Ore House knocked it out of the park. The Calamari and Artichoke hearts were perfect and the aged Prime Rib eye was absolutely the best steak I've ever had. Service was good and the staff was... More

We started off our meal with french onion soup and the ice burg salad. The soup wasn't as good as I expected from a steakhouse. Of course we had the filet mignon and was good but not memorable. We had the asperagus and it was the biggest and toughest asperagus we have ever eaten or seen. After reading all the... More

We'd had enough steak this week so I had the wild salmon. It was served on a plank accompanied by a spinach and apple salad. Both the salad and salmon were very good. My husband enjoyed the chicken cordon blue. Service was efficient and friendly.

We enjoyed a festive dinner on Christmas Eve; the three of us ordered and savored Teriyaki Prime Flat Iron, Surf & Surf & Turf (crab, lobster and filet mignon), and the scallops special along with sides of mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and brussels sprouts . Every morsel of the entrees and the side dishes was spectacular! The service is... More

We hadn't eaten there for about 10 years and went back last week. Atmosphere is excellent, rustic, wood, small, intimate. Service was impeccable. Our server was Brittney and she was backed up by three others. The steaks were melt-in-your-mouth and cooked to perfection. Not the very best I have had but right up there. The Creme Brule Trio for desert... More

Fine dining without a pretense. A little pricy but worth every penny. Also check the menue for the entres other than the steaks. Good values there. The chicken cordon blue is exceptional.
