Had a great meal with the family. The restaurant is very nice, had a nice view from our bay window looking up the mountain. My wife and daughter had the filet, my son had the burger, and I had the ribeye special. All our meals were delicious. The only reason for no 5 stars is the service was a little... More

Duck confit spring rolls were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Delicious!! Ample serving for 2 people. I had the petite filet, husband had (OK, I don't remember) but he LOVED it. Great service! He didn't discriminate against us because we looked like slobs after spending the entire day driving across Co. Very nice atmosphere, excellent selection on menu & wine list!... More

We celebrated a significant birthday July 8, 2014. Chrissy reserved a lovely(her favorite)table for us when my husband called to make the reservation. We had a lovely bottle of wine and ordered the small plates...a filet cooked perfectly, and elk tenderloin, which was a first and very good. Our salads were great and the tomato soup excellent. The bread basket... More

The food is delicious. The decor is simplistic, rustic, and pretty. But we waited for over an hour and a half to get our food. When we finally asked our server when she thought our food would be ready, she was not apologetic at all and just told us that they were busy. There were several open tables, so I'm... More

I can't stop thinking about the food and how delicious it was! Each of us ordered something different, but agreed, the salmon and fillet mignon dishes were the most exceptional in presentation. Wow factor!! One of the people in our party preferred no mushrooms on a dish that had "morel" in the name. The waitress simply advised, everything on the... More

We just had our wedding reception at the Sow's Ear. We had never eaten at the Sow's Ear prior to the wedding but had read the great reviews and had heard great things from locals. We had appetizers and a sit-down dinner with choices of ribeye, trout or stuffed chicken. For the kids, we had chicken fingers and fries. All... More

February 2014 I was skiing at Durango Mountain resort and staying in the condos at the base. After looking on Yelp, we came upon the Sow's Ear and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food. I resist the word "fine dining" as it's more of an upscale mountain resort dining experience, not too fancy. However, the service is... More

This was our first dinner stop as we were staying on the mountain, and it was wonderful! Very reasonable prices for fine dining. They were also surprisingly family friendly.
