The Bar D is an evening experience. They serve a nice dinner with a cowboy show featuring four fellows that sing all kinds of western songs. Seating is outdoors at picnic tables. There were about 300 people there and we were served in a cafeteria style in about 20 minutes. In addition there are some shops to purchase different items... More

this would be ok for 5-year-olds but that's about it. the food was marginal for the price, the seating is very uncomfortable for a 3 hour stint, and the music was so-so. they don't recycle anything and generate huge piles of trash. Not to mention the offensive songs they sang ... seriously?! making fun of everyone who's slightly different than... More

If you enjoy being herded like cattle to a trough this place is for you. I would not come here solely for the dinner, the small chicken breasts and sliced roast beef merely coated in bbq sauce, not grilled, appeared boiled? Didn't get to eat the biscuit as they were collecting honey before I got to eat it. Had the... More

Chuck wagon dinners have become a tradition on family vacations and Bar D did not disappoint. The show was funny and kid friendly. The food was good and service was quick.

We usually come to Durango once a year, every year, and have been coming here since we were kids. We try and swing a visit every time. It is worth the price to upgrade to the steak and I would call it great! The beef and chicken are good but the atmosphere is fantastic as well as the entertainment. Keep... More

It was raining the night we went, so everything was indoors under a tent. Part of the fun of going is the outdoor experience under the stars, so I wasn't happy to be inside. The food was just fair and the entertainment just wasn't really our thing, although the performers were quite talented. If you really like cowboy or old-fashioned... More

First visited in the 1980s on a trip with a large family group, and I have continued to return every ten years or so to enjoy again the Bar-D Chuckwagon dinner and show. The Bar D has played host to three generations of our family since that first visit thirty years ago. It has gone through a few changes since... More

Folks I go every year. Its a highlight of the summer for my family. Come hungry and enjoy the show. There is a lot of comedy and fun. Beware, if you are a mean spirited big city type do every one a favor and just stay there.
