You can get a rice bowl or a salad bowl with the same "build your own" options as the giant burrito. I did the Baja style fish tacos - way yummy with mango salsa. Very popular place for good reason

I love little restaurants and eateries that support the local farmers and Zia did not dissapoint. The burritos were delicious and the ingredients were very fresh. Many people likened it to chipotle, which is true but it's even better and much cheaper. They also have the option of refried beans. We need more places like this around the country!

June 5, 2014 ......After a long day of exploring Mesa Verde Nat'l Park, we decided to stop in at the location on the south side of Durango. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady. We moved down the "assembly" line telling the guy what various items we wanted on our burrito. It is great to be able to... More

I've visited this restaurant many times and enjoyed the fresh ingredients and the chance to combine them the way that I like them. On a nice day you can get take-out and walk half a block over to the local history museum (the Animas Museum) for a picnic lunch followed by a visit to the museum.

If you are in Durango, CO, don't miss a meal or two at Zia Taqueria. There are two locations with the same menu. North on Main Ave. and South on the service road of 160/550. Don't be put off by the long lines or smallish dining area. They really move people through quickly and I always have found a seat.... More

Besides burritos and big 13" buros, they have daily specials such as fish taco or shrimp burrito. They also are the only place that has Mexican wedding cookies, also know as and tasting like almond crescents. Some inside seating but most folks seem to order to go.

My first few visits to Zia made me pine for the days when I lived in Denver and there was a Chipotle on every corner, but now I can never go back. Every trip to Chipotle I've had since while away from Durango has proved flavorless and bland. I was never a fan of spicy foods until I got into... More

Plenty of food for the money. This is sort of like eating at a Chiplote's restaurant in that you get your order prepared as you go along the service bar. The chips are made locally and the food is very good. We will eat here again when in Durango I am sure.

I had searched for authentic Mexican Baja style fish tacos for years. My personal attempts didn't come close. I tried them wherever I found them in the US. And then I tried those at Zia Taqueria in Durango. An hour drive from home, I cannot leave Durango without having a plate. The rest of the menu is all fresh food,... More
