I highly recommend Oscar's Café for Breakfast (and lunch) as it is great food, great portions, great service and excellent customer service, and such a fun atmosphere! It is like a trip in time - a bit "retro" in design, with seating a bit close - as is the case with a small eating establishment and a fun/entertaining interior! I... More

We tried this for breakfast after other Tripadvisor reviews, they were right on. I normally stay away from eggs benedict because the sauce is from a can or powder mix. This was excellent. Their meals are very large and we left some the plate because it was too much to eat. I did not like their biscuits and gravy. I'm... More

We had been to Oscars 10 years ago on a trip, we still talked about the best pancakes ever. We were on a road trip and got the chance to come through Durango, well we knew where we were going to eat breakfast. It just so happened that we stayed across from them. It had been updated some, but still... More

We recently ate at Oscars. Oscars has only gotten better since I last reviewed it. The owners recently renovated the restaurant and it looks great. The service staff is great and the food is wonderful. I had the Tio Omelet and my wife had the Durango Scramble. The Tio is very special and features Oscars famous green chili. The Durango... More

Huge portions definitely share with family or load up on a big plate then you can go to Mesa Verde all day like we did and not need to eat again until dinner.

We arrived around 8:00 in the morning and the place was packed. However, we were quickly given a table which was cleared. The service was quite efficient so we were able to quickly order. We had their enormous plate sized pancake with an egg and bacon. The maple syrup was even warm. Good value.

Went to Oscars for breakfast (again). Luckily I was all alone so I got immediate seating at the counter. Otherwise the wait would have been 30 minutes. I tried the ham steak and eggs special. The food was delicious. I marveled at all the frantic activity around me from the kitchen to waitstaff to dishwasher this place is humming in... More

Old school diner vibe- always packed, with good reason. Service was fast, good was fantastic (the Verde rocks!) and for those with an appetite, the cinnamon roll outsizes most heads! Just go. You won't regret it.

We stopped at Oscar's for breakfast on the last day of our stay in Durango. Our server at dinner the night before had recommended it. Service was fast and efficient and they were very responsive to splitting a plate without a problem. Pretty traditional breakfast, but it was executed pretty well at Oscar's. The decor is kitschy, but fun.

Get there early. Small place but fantastic food, very fresh. Very friendly. Great value. Huge pancakes.
