Best Breakfast EVER!!!!

Normally when you order ham and eggs, you get something that is ham-ish. This was a massive slab of off the bone ham, all gooey, bronzed and caramelized, with two over medium eggs, hashbrowns and toast!!! Fabulous, one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Nice place, but small, busy and with... read more

Oscars cafe is a local legend. I have been going there for 40 years! Great atmosphere, great food, great service and a toy train that circles the entire restaurant! I LOVE their hamburgers and fries! Hands down one of the best burgers I have ever ate. The staff is great and always greets you with a big hello and smile.... More

It's had good reviews here so the wife and I tried it. It's pretty good, no complaints. Fun interior and great staff. Had a Santa Fe special which while tasty with fresh homemade hash browns, I'm from Santa Fe and wasn't wow'ed. Still, tasty not at all Santa Fe 'chili', the dish kept me full all day.

Oscar's was recommended to us by a waitress at another local restaurant in Durango. Since we didn't want to fight for parking in downtown Durango we took her advice. Oscar's is in a shopping center so no problem parking and we were quite pleased with the meal. Tables are sort of small, 4 seater is really good for 2 people.... More

We went to Oscar's Café when passing through Durango. It seemed as if there are two groups of customers: local people who have gone there for decades and us tourists who read about the restaurant on Tripadvisor. The café is small and serves a large number of people. This is not mass produced food. Each meal is carefully prepared so... More

Went into Oscars today and sat at the counter for some lunch, though im a Durango native I hadn't been in in awhile, wanted to see if it was as good as I remembered. Had a burger and a chocolate shake with fries. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection, ive always loved their fries and they are just as... More

A friend and I arrived at Oscar's at 11:50 fearing a packed house only to find 3 tables full in front of us. We sat down and waited to be served, the place filled up before we were taken care of with other tables being waiting on before us even though they had just arrived. Several tables who arrived after... More

Have been going to Oscars for years when visiting Durango. It is a local favorite. Went this past week and it was awful! The bacon was rancid and the waitress was very uninterested in hearing about it and didn't offer to do anything about it. The omelet filling was very skimpy. The muffin was burned. The waitress brought the wrong... More

My BLT was great, I also ordered a banana pie and I felt there was simply too much whipped cream, It was on the top and sides. Some would like it, but it was just too much for me.

Oscar's Café lives up to its reputation for serving the best breakfast in Durango. The only problem is that it's so popular that the queue stretches out on to the pavement. We managed to get in twice but were beat for a third visit! They serve every variation of an American breakfast in vast quantities. In fact, the only items missing... More
