Nicely located and inviting interior but not to Japanese standards. This is another example of "Americanisation" going the wrong direction. The way ingredients are cut is important for Japanese kitchen. Here everything is oversized also the cut. Tempura vegetables are too thickly slized leaving them undercooked after passage in the frying oil. The ingredients are of ample quality but lack... More

Moving from LA to Denver was a shock to this Cali girl, tried a few other sushi places before we found Sasa. Recommended by another new Denver resident. We really enjoy the freshness and I like that there are not to many "artsy" rolls as I prefer traditional. Scottish salmon roll, yellowtail jalapeno sashimi, tuna tataki salad, fire fry roll... More

Sasa really does have the best sushi in Denver. While Sushi Den and Happa may be more trendy or popular, I really did have the best sushi here, and I have tried many places in Denver.

My wife and I celebrated my birthday at Sasa Sushi last night. It was an early dinner on a Tuesday and the place was busy, but we did get a table without a reservation. The place is somewhat stark, but trendy. By the way, if you go, ask for a table in the main dining room. We didn't and both... More

The fish was incredibly fresh, expertly cut and placed atop perfectly cooked, flavorful rice. The miso soup and salad that came with the mixed sushi lunch special were a serious notch above what is offered at your typical sushi restaurant. I've lived in NY and South Florida and this place is better than anywhere else I have had sushi. This... More

Had lunch here recently with some friends. Their menu is really diverse with rolls like the strawberry shortcake roll (essentially dessert) to their spicy tuna rolls that have great flavor. The place is not cheap, but the product is definitely worth it and the service is outstanding.

We've eaten here a number of times, and always found it very good. Our only concern is that in the summer (as we found again last night), they really crank up the air conditioning, which can make for an uncomfortable meal if you are too close to the ceiling vents. I'd also question the staff's decision to seat a family... More

I think the sushi was good but nothing life changing. We ordered an appetizer as well that was decent. We had very poor service so that could have made the place seem not as great. I prefer Sushi Den to this place.

We had a little problem finding the restaurant because the entrance was on a side street with a very discreet sign. Inside, it was large, open and beautifully done. The menu had both individual sushi rolls etc., and combination plates, all of which were beautifully prepared and delicious. There was a clam/miso soup which we just had to try and... More

I'm not a big sushi guy but this was pretty darn good. Try the blt rolls for the meat lovers. Really not bad for my limited sushi experience. They have a bar where you can sit and watch them make it.
