Description: What are your first three food and drink related visits when you head to...
What are your first three food and drink related visits when you head to your hometown? What do you order? Fried Clams from Kelly's? Supreme Sauce from Raynor's? A slice from Joe's? A take out order of a green-chili cheeseburger from The Owl Cafe? Maybe it's that hot dog from Pink's or those sticky ribs from Thelma's. Or do you head home for a bowl of Mom's chicken soup and brisket? We return to these classic spots for the comfort, the subtly unique flavor, the consistency, the familiarity, and the memories of both the food and the experience. Only one place can set the standard for certain foods. Lovers of food have their own "greatest hits collection." We yearn for that blissful moment that uses the powers of food, smell, sight, taste, and memory to take us to a happy place; that after school hangout, the corner deli, the pizza place and sometimes even Mom's kitchen. Steuben's is named after a restaurant in Boston that my Great Uncles, Max and Joe, opened in 1945. Steuben's became a famous Boston restaurant, nightclub, and hotspot from the 1940's to the 1960's on Boylston Street. The Vienna Room, The Cave, and The Blue Room were all part of the Steuben's space and hosted Big Band, Jazz, and Swing groups with The Rat Pack, Proms and Sweet Sixteens and more. In its prime, Steuben's was the center of the Boston dining and nightlife scene. Steuben's, Denver, is a restaurant that respects the history of its name and the core ingredients of the American Regional classics we have attempted to recreate. These dishes are America's cuisine and American's interpretations of the dishes of our diverse cultural heritage. We have enjoyed the endless debates, opinions, stories, research, consultations and food memories that have led us to the opening version of the Steuben's menu. Eat at Steuben's. Take-Out from Steuben's. Drink at Steuben's. Feel at home, in Denver, at Steuben's.

Excellent food with unique modern decor

I have been to Steuben's twice and enjoy their unique food and the unique retro vibe of the restaurant. This place can be packed but they have prompt, attentive and excellent servers that will bring your modern American comfort food fast.

Outdoor seating on a nice day was excellent. Kids menu actually had fruit and veggies which was nice. Cuban sandwich and bacon boozy shake rocked. Wish I could have tried all the boozy shakes.

The service from randy was excellent. I had the lobster roll which was fresh and had plenty of lobster and not a lot of mayo , which is the way i prefer it. I tasted the meat loaf and it was pretty good but the gravy had an over powering flavor that was a little off putting as both of... More

Good, but not great. The staff was fabulous....friendly, prompt and attentive. Food didn't quite live up to my expectation. Iceberg wedge salad was room temp but should have been cold. The pepperoni was a nice addition though. The roasted chicken came with polenta and roasted vegetables but I couldn't tell where one ended and the other started - it was... More

The restaurant has a very fun atmosphere, but we were seated near a door to the patio and continually jostled throughout our meal. The food was very good - I got the lobster roll, which was pricey but delicious. Very rich, though! Service was good.

Took my Mother in Law for a special dinner on Saturday. Fried Chicken was excellent as well as the Trout. You MUST do the Moscow Mule. Delivered in a copper mug, this drink is a ginger beer with a wonderful twist. We also had the Clam Chowder as well as the Onion Soup to start with, both wonderful. I simply... More

I've only been to Steuben's on 17th for lunch, but it looks like it would be fun for dinner as well. They have a small parking lot, and there is parking on the side streets as well. Eating on the covered patio is great now that it's spring. The waiters are unobtrusive, never interrupting your conversation to refill your drinks... More

Had a great meal at Steuben's while visiting my son in Denver. We started with the Steubie Snacks and the Punch Bowl drink. Oh my goodness---the punch really came in a punch bowl. It was very grapefruity and generously filled with several kinds of alcohol. There were four of us sharing it, and we each had 2 drinks easily. We... More

Looking for a Cobb Salad, this restaurant was recommended to me. We tried it without a reservation and were seated outside on their terrace immediately. The Cobb was huge and had huge chunks of blue cheese in the dressing....I didn't need the Italian grinder we split but it was delicious as well. Service was fast paced and attentive and the... More

Great home food menu. Ordered take out and everything was excellent except my steak. There was sinew running through it and I couldn't even cut through it. I have only sent one plate back to the kitchen in my lifetime. However, if we had eaten in, this would have been the second. Would have been a 5 star rating but... More
