Description: What are your first three food and drink related visits when you head to...
What are your first three food and drink related visits when you head to your hometown? What do you order? Fried Clams from Kelly's? Supreme Sauce from Raynor's? A slice from Joe's? A take out order of a green-chili cheeseburger from The Owl Cafe? Maybe it's that hot dog from Pink's or those sticky ribs from Thelma's. Or do you head home for a bowl of Mom's chicken soup and brisket? We return to these classic spots for the comfort, the subtly unique flavor, the consistency, the familiarity, and the memories of both the food and the experience. Only one place can set the standard for certain foods. Lovers of food have their own "greatest hits collection." We yearn for that blissful moment that uses the powers of food, smell, sight, taste, and memory to take us to a happy place; that after school hangout, the corner deli, the pizza place and sometimes even Mom's kitchen. Steuben's is named after a restaurant in Boston that my Great Uncles, Max and Joe, opened in 1945. Steuben's became a famous Boston restaurant, nightclub, and hotspot from the 1940's to the 1960's on Boylston Street. The Vienna Room, The Cave, and The Blue Room were all part of the Steuben's space and hosted Big Band, Jazz, and Swing groups with The Rat Pack, Proms and Sweet Sixteens and more. In its prime, Steuben's was the center of the Boston dining and nightlife scene. Steuben's, Denver, is a restaurant that respects the history of its name and the core ingredients of the American Regional classics we have attempted to recreate. These dishes are America's cuisine and American's interpretations of the dishes of our diverse cultural heritage. We have enjoyed the endless debates, opinions, stories, research, consultations and food memories that have led us to the opening version of the Steuben's menu. Eat at Steuben's. Take-Out from Steuben's. Drink at Steuben's. Feel at home, in Denver, at Steuben's.

Good but not great

My coworkers and I stopped by for lunch when we were in the mood for some good sandwiches. We got chili burgers and the blackened chicken sandwich with the Steuben fries. Burgers were good, but I can think of a dozen other places with better burgers. Blackened chicken sandwich was yummy but... read more

My family visited Denver last weekend, and our tour guide recommended Steubens for lunch. We were very satisfied. We are originally from Texas, and like some good ol country cookin. They had some tasty fried chicken, and we loved their shakes.

Decor is super cute. Servers very friendly. Great unique cocktail menu. Tried the meatloaf and the fried chicken. Both were out of this world. Cute neighborhood. What's not to love.

I spent two days in Denver & this place was by far the best meal I had - Cuban sandwich with a side of amazing brussel sprouts. The place has a good vibrant atmosphere and the staff are very friendly.

Featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives, so most folks have heard of it, but it truly is a Denver gem. The food is amazing and if you are New England transplant this is where to go to get your lobster roll fix! Drinks are expertly made - especially those that include their homemade soaked cherries!

We stopped in here on a busy summer night in June. Parking was great because there is a lot right next to Steuben's. The food was delicious (loved the chicken and waffles) and the place has a nice assortment of drinks. Service was attentive but a little slow (presumably because the place was packed!). The decor and atmosphere can't be... More

Gotta have the "Stubey Snacks" appetizer ... Fried pork, powdered sugar and a spicey sauce! Definitely not healthy but man ... still thinking about them!

Great service from Rebecca. Environment is casual and laid back. Food is varied and doesn't disappoint. My wife and I visited while in town from Texas. Green chili hamburger was very good. Mac and cheese was good, but noodles were over cooked slightly. Lemon icebox log dessert was A-maz-ing. Tart and sweet at the same bite.

We went for dinner and ended up coming back for brunch a day later. Chicken and waffles was excellent. Mac and cheese was very average and cold unfortunately. Cubano(?) sandwich was fantastic.
