Description: What are your first three food and drink related visits when you head to...
What are your first three food and drink related visits when you head to your hometown? What do you order? Fried Clams from Kelly's? Supreme Sauce from Raynor's? A slice from Joe's? A take out order of a green-chili cheeseburger from The Owl Cafe? Maybe it's that hot dog from Pink's or those sticky ribs from Thelma's. Or do you head home for a bowl of Mom's chicken soup and brisket? We return to these classic spots for the comfort, the subtly unique flavor, the consistency, the familiarity, and the memories of both the food and the experience. Only one place can set the standard for certain foods. Lovers of food have their own "greatest hits collection." We yearn for that blissful moment that uses the powers of food, smell, sight, taste, and memory to take us to a happy place; that after school hangout, the corner deli, the pizza place and sometimes even Mom's kitchen. Steuben's is named after a restaurant in Boston that my Great Uncles, Max and Joe, opened in 1945. Steuben's became a famous Boston restaurant, nightclub, and hotspot from the 1940's to the 1960's on Boylston Street. The Vienna Room, The Cave, and The Blue Room were all part of the Steuben's space and hosted Big Band, Jazz, and Swing groups with The Rat Pack, Proms and Sweet Sixteens and more. In its prime, Steuben's was the center of the Boston dining and nightlife scene. Steuben's, Denver, is a restaurant that respects the history of its name and the core ingredients of the American Regional classics we have attempted to recreate. These dishes are America's cuisine and American's interpretations of the dishes of our diverse cultural heritage. We have enjoyed the endless debates, opinions, stories, research, consultations and food memories that have led us to the opening version of the Steuben's menu. Eat at Steuben's. Take-Out from Steuben's. Drink at Steuben's. Feel at home, in Denver, at Steuben's.

I stopped by during a recent visit to the Denver area. It was midday Sunday and there was quite a crowd for brunch. It is clearly a popular eatery. I had a green chili cheeseburger that tasted fine, but nothing extraordinary; service was slow as it took quite a while to be able to place an order. Atmosphere is more... More

A busy restaurant with both indoor and outdoor eating. Great food and service with large portions. A good range of cocktails that are well made.

Stueben's was on my list of places to try in Denver because they were featured on Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives (a guide for many of my dining choices while on the road). What a great atmosphere! We went for dinner (early) on a Friday night. The place was comfortably busy, but our group of 2 was sat immediately inside. It... More

Steuben's has a great atmosphere accompanied with crafted drinks. There are a couple items I always have to order, Stubie snacks, which are crispy pieces of pork tossed in powder sugar. The crispy Brussels are amazing and their fried chicken is pretty stellar. Definitely try sitting on the patio, even if it's cold outside they have heaters!

At first glance, Steuben's will remind you of a busy, loud diner, but it is so much more. Regardless of what you order, be it an appetizer, sandwich, or entrée, the food is fabulous. The other night my wife had the fried chicken and I had a wonderfully prepared pot roast with mashed potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes. Delicious!... More

Every time I am in Denver, my daughter and I go to Steuben's. The lobster roll is wonderful - full of lobster on a grilled bun! Served with great fries! Also try the brussel sprouts!

I was in Denver for a week and it was so good I had to eat here twice. It was pretty busy but the wait was short and we opted for cocktails at their bar while we waited. All of their cocktails are well crafted and have high quality ingredients. Between my friends and I we ordered almost every appetizer... More

We ate here midweek - there was no wait for a table. The rooms are vintage-y - not too much as to be cute but familiar in a nice way. Great friendly service. Well priced foods. I would eat here again but not right away - very large portions, and rich and heavier foods though all really tasty.
