I usually return to Rioja for a high quality dining experience. The seating is relatively informal, but there is a chef's bar in the back that I like to sit at. I almost always have the lamb.

While researching restaurants in Denver, I decided that Rioja would be a great choice for lunch on our day of arrival. The chef is a James Beard Foundation Award Winner. After dining at Rioja, I completely agree with the accolades. The food was incredible - really really good. The service was spot-on. The wine was reasonably priced and was a... More

I have been at this restaurant a few ties and every time I really enjoy it so mach. The atmosphere is very nice, romantic, service is good, food is creative. It is not cheap, but you cannot find inexpensive restaurants on Larimer St. Certainly worth a visit!

In brief: Service felt rushed and food was hit and miss: cold and tough steak and over-seasoned pheasant. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and sat at the bar as our table wasn't ready. I had one of the best classic martinis I've ever had and hubby had a lovely bourbon cocktail. When table was ready, hostess did... More

This was the first time that we visited Roija - we will definitely be back! The breadbasket is amazing - sourdough bread is delicious. We chose the house salads for both of us & shared pacchetti (pacchetti is to die for); I had the seared scallops (delicious) and my friend ordered the Berkshire pork chop (she raved about how good... My wife and I enjoyed a quiet meal here over the weekend. Drinks were good, although a little pricey IMO. The artichoke tortelloni appetizer was incredible. The portions were MUCH larger than either of us expected. Service was okay, could have been better. Dark, quiet atmosphere was nice.

My husband and I treated our selves out to a date night in Denver starting with dinner and drinks at Rioja. They have a great date night atmosphere and seasonal menu that apparently changes frequently. They have plenty of options for everyone from the more adventurous to the more picky eaters. I plan to come back and would recommend it... More

My wife and I are in our late 50s. We dine out very often and search out the finest places to eat around the world. We LOVE to eat great food. We can say that this was the BEST meal we have ever had in our lives. From the first appetizers to the pasta to the main course and finally... More

Oh, what a meal! Rioja has it all - great location in a trendy area, attentive staff, very appealing atmosphere and a menu that's both creative and super-tasty. The service is great; we were under-dressed but were treated like royalty. Rioja has a never-ending bread basket with selections that include lavender sourdough, an "everything" flatbread and a cheesy muffin. The... More

We were in Denver for the day, and looking for a lunch location. We were very surprised to see we were standing in front of such a highly ranked restaurant. This two block are of Denver has a lot of restaurants, many of them well respected. We walked in about 12:30 on a Saturday, and were able to be seated... More
