Too often when going to a fine dinning restaurant, I am disappoited. I mean, if I'm paying $40 for an entre, I want to be able to tell the difference between it and it's $20 counterpart. Often, I am let down. Rioja is NOT one of those times. Our waiter, whose name I unfortunately do not remember, was simply, exceptional.... More

During a recent stay in Denver, we ventured to Rioja for dinner. The service was wonderful, the food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was elegant. I really enjoyed my perfectly cooked piece of halibut! I will definitely return!

Although we had no reservations, they went out of their way to seat us. The food and service was excellent, with four of us ordering different items from the appetizer through dessert with nothing but the highest praise for the service and food.

We went early to this busy restaurant and the hostess told us we could be seated if we could be done in an hour since we didn't have a reservation. We kind of laughed and said 'ok' because we wanted to eat here badly! Not a great furst impression, but we understood as we did not call ahead. Our server... More

My trip to Rioja was enjoyable and well worth it. The restaurant is very busy which is a testament to it's popularity but this very popularity is always a challenge in both food preparation and service. I am happy to write that it succeeded on both counts. As a first course, I was recommended the fresh bacon with garbanzo puree.... More

Although well rated, I didn't find the food worth returning for. Service was poor. Food presentation was very inventive, but portions are small. We spent a fair amount and still ended up at a drive through for burgers later.

Rioja 1431 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80202 303-820-2282 http://goo.gl/maps/gNp94 On our first trip to Denver we found this place for dinner. It's in Larimer Square so it's in the downtown area and easily accessible with public parking nearby. We started with a signature cocktail and it was sweet, spicy and sour all at the same time. We then followed with... More

We didn't have reservations, but they were label to seat us in the lounge. Fairly large spot, obviously popular and for good reasons. We started with a spicy cocktail... Unique and the Rioja Picnic. Presentation was astounding and the taste even better...Italian meats, ricotta cheese balls, cheeses and mouth watering olive. Enough for 3-4 generous nibblers. We shared the halibut... More

Wow, amazing food and atmosphere. We were not disappointed in any faset and the service is some of the best I have experienced. In fact, when we were struggling to decided what of the many yummy sounded dishes to try for the next visit! I would say probably the best restaurant in Larimer! We will be back sooner than later...
