Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A must-stop on any trip to Denver.

Breakfast

Nice restaurant with friendly wait staff. They were willing and able to accommodate our group of nine without a reservation. A bit crowed and noisy, for my taste, but would definitely return .

Great service, neat diner décor, and breakfast for lunch... exactly what I wanted when I arrived after traveling from the East coast. And, coke in a glass bottle... a rare treat. Good quick meal and good price in a fun setting.

Met a friend here for breakfast. Told by many, while in Denver have breakfast here. The breakfast was uninspired, scrambled eggs were over cooked. Had to wait for the toast, which arrived after most of my breakfast was done.

Not sure if there was a negative change in MGT or not, but when a family (summer time of the year) elects to venture to a place which was once a Food Network choice, no customer should have to kill more than one bug during a dining visit. Food was worse than Waffle House @ 2 in the morning!

This has the feel of an old time dinner - just very large. Really fun place to eat - menu is enormous. Eggs Benedict was good, not great. But then, I didn't have great expectations. This is a good solid breakfast place with all the good stuff.

We live within a block of Sam's so eat there at least twice a week. The servers are very friendly, the food is good and in big portions and the prices are very reasonable. The menu offers a great variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A favorite is the vanilla shakes and malts served in a can with real whipped... More

Sam's does a great job at making sure folks get a good meal at a good price. I've been going for over 10 years, and I love the variety and service. This place is great for families, individuals looking for "non fast food"....at a good pace...or Contractors stoping in for a beer, after work. Nice job Sam's!

Sam,s is one of the best breakfast places I have ever been to. The menus will read like a book. It would take me years to try everything on just the breakfast menu. Burritos as large as small child and the green chili is a good as if you were in Mexico. Lots of pork in their Chili. Will go... More

Sams 3 serves a very good journeyman American Diner food. Ambiance is Dennys and crowded is the norm (no reservations). What Sams has, is the cool factor. Waiting seems to be part of the experience. EVERYONE wants to go to Sams 3.
