Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A must-stop on any trip to Denver.

So good!

If you're in downtown Denver, this is a must. Breakfast was so good! We got the Denver omelette and Greek skillet. So much food, great quality food and great service!

This place is reportedly known for their green chili related dishes. I tried a cup of it and found it to be alright. I had one of their bison burgers which was about as good as anywhere else. Overall average, but the portions were quite large.

They do the breakfast thing well, and there's not much in the way of standard breakfast items that isn't on the menu. Nevertheless, this is about affordable meals and doesn't try to pretend to be something its not.

I happened to walk by Sam's No. 3 during a walk around the block from my hotel, and I only stopped in because there were prominent signs proclaiming that they had been featured on an episode of Dinners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network. I sat at the counter as I was solo and only in town for a... More

We stopped in after a trade show, because Sam's No. 3 was on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The food was very good and enormous servings. Our waiter and all the staff were great, knowledgeable and very attentive. All around a great little comfort stop.

I came here twice during my three day stay over the weekend. This place is amazing and I wish we had a diner like this in VA/DC. The service was amazing and we loved every bite our meals. I got the kitchen sink burrito for breakfast. It felt like it because of the portion but man was it amazing. For... More

I sat at one of the old fashioned counters and had excellent service. The waiter gave good opinions on "must try dishes" and made sure my glass was always full. he suggested a slight modification to my order which was a great change.

My wife and I looked around the Buell complex for someplace to eat and this was one of the places that came up. It looked interesting. It is a classic diner with great food. It is heavy on the breakfast items (served all day long). It does have other diner faire, but we had breakfast skillets. Mine was the kitchen... More
