Description: Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A must-stop on any trip to Denver.

The food was good and this is a popular restaurant downtown. However, the customer service was lacking. Our waiter was very unprofessional and got our order wrong. Also, when we went to pay, the cashier charged our card, and then walked away without finishing business. Check out one of the other burger joints in town!

Chose this diner because of the Food Network recommendation. It was busy for lunch on a Wednesday and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. The staff was friendly and working hard with a full restaurant. The menu is extensive and a little overwhelming. We chose the "Cheesy One and One" and the tacos. Both were very good.

The most unusual burger I have had. First, I upgraded to Buffalo meat, then had it in the Green Chile Mexican, which came wrapped in a large flour tortilla, with green chile sauce and melted cheese - delicious! Don't expect to pick it up with your hands, this is strictly a knife and fork event. I'm always game to try... More

The breakfast here is the best in Denver but make sure you go hungry or at least order with your brain and not your tummy. I had a breakfast burrito as big as a plate and also a side of pancakes. Needless to say I couldn't find I either. Great staff and atmosphere!!

We had a group of five and happened to want breakfast on a football Sunday. We called ahead to have our name on the list and a table was available when we walked in. One in our group was gluten and dairy free. No problem! There are several GF/DF menu options. In fact the menu is huge and takes a... More

Great food, great atmosphere! Enjoyed lunch at Sam's, had a short wait but it was worth it. Now I am not saying this was the best food of my life, but it was great. Fast service, large portions and inexpensive beer! Pitcher of Stella was $14! $14! I always enjoy a diner with a bar.

Ate breakfast here one morning during our stay in Denver and the service, the food and prices were all good. A solid little breakfast. We came to this restaurant during the weekend so it was really busy. I called before we left the hotel to put our name on the waiting list which worked out really well. When we walked... More

Being Named Sam...i wanted to Love it, but didn't. It felt more like a chain restaurant than an old time diner. My food was a bit cold. Kids were happy with their waffle and pancakes. Service was ok. Overall, i'd say there are better Diner options (Rosie's in Aurora for example).

So maybe it's because the day before I had the best breakfast of my life, but I wasn't too impressed with Sams. Everyone kept telling me that I had to go here while in Denver and besides there being a crazy long line and wait, it was just OK breakfast. A bit too greasy for my taste and it had... More
