Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A must-stop on any trip to Denver.

Great breakfast spot

Ive been to Sam's several times, most recently for breakfast with the boyfriend on a Saturday morning. It was very busy but they are usually pretty quick about cycling through tables. There is a huge selection of food; the bf is vegetarian and sometimes it's hard to find places that have lots of... read more

On our last day in Denver stopped in for a fast bite. No wait and very courteous service. We had the pancakes and an omelet. The food did not disappoint and we would highly recommend!

There's no question that it's good. Most mornings are really busy for breakfast, but it's big enough and fast enough so you don't have to wait too long, during the week. But, if you want breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday, go very early or be prepared to wait. Of course it's worth waiting for! The menu is huge, and... More

Excellent venue for a typical American Diner experience. Good food, and lots of it! Friendly staff also. get there very early for brunch on a Sunday though - long wait otherwise, but it's worth it!

Great old school diner. Generous portions, good drinks, helpful waiters lots of choices. Great shakes, happy hours, and they gladly split orders and checks.

Really enjoyed this breakfast spot. We went on a Friday morning and were seating right away even though it was crowded. We walked past on Saturday and man, you could not get in! I had Breakfast Tacos and the hot sauce they came with was unbelievable. So good. The kids had pancakes. Awesome.

I don't get there often, but when I'm there I am not the only one. Of course this is a good sign for a restaurant! Reminds me of a busy east coast diner with all the high energy which I like - sometimes. Lots of people having a good time over a meal. Bring your appetite! Nothing fancy - but... More

We came here when the family couldn't agree on a type of cuisine for dinner, based on online reviews. The hubby had traditional diner food (chicken fried steak) and he said it was delicious. The two kids and I had Mexican fare, and everyone had nachos as an appetizer. All were pretty good, but quite spicy. Even the guacamole. Service... More

We went to lunch at Sam's in downtown Denver. The restaurant is large, and has an outdoor patio if you want to eat outside. We opted to sit inside at a booth by the big picture windows. The menu is huge with lots of options for everyone. Service is good, food was decent diner quality, and the meal size is... More
