Description: Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A must-stop on any trip to Denver.

The place had a good atmosphere and the food was good but come hungry. There is a lot of it. Had the Buffalo burrito with green chili. It was yum.

Sam's No. 3 is the greatest place to enjoy a meal. the service is tops. All of the Sams are great but I prefer No. 3. Don't miss it when you are downtown Denver.

This is the place to be before a bronco game if you want a great breakfast. The line was huge but the staff did their best to make it go by fast. I would recommend getting there early. The menu has something for everyone.

Sam's is the place to eat downtown. The menu has a huge selection. The prices are very reasonable. They have a full bar with happy hour and drink specials. The wait staff is always friendly and efficient. They can get busy, and can be along wait for a table. We usually sit at the bar and get served right away.... More

I was glad I chose this as a small, local eatery. The menu is certain to have something you will enjoy! Prices are reasonable. The decor gave you a mom and pop feel. Laid back and efficient.

I have had breakfast and lunch at Sam's 3, It has a been a very satisfying experience each and every time! The food was always good, from the smothered chili dogs, to the several breakfast meals, all were excellent. I not only loved the food quality, but the quantity was always more than I could eat! The service is fast,... More

Big and bustling, with a menu to match. Not so big that you should not expect a brief wait at lunchtime. Apparently a local institution but working hard to keep earning the status. Ice cream cones "to go" are sold in one area, in the unlikely event that your sit-down eating hasn't left you pleasantly stuffed.

My daughter and I love this place for breakfast or lunch. They have an extensive menu with everything from Mexican, all day breakfast foods, and tons of great greasy-spoon type menu items that are all delicious. The service is fast and friendly. They have kind of a sports bar atmosphere in one location and they are really family friendly. You... More

While staying at the Curtis Hotel, Sam's was a short walk. Also a short distance from the 16th street mall. Ate here for dinner one night, prices were reasonable and the food was good. Had the BBQ burger with a buffalo patty, it was excellent. My mom had the French dip sandwich, also very good. We split a wedge salad,... More
