Description: Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A must-stop on any trip to Denver.

We were looking for a place to eat and decided on Sam's as there was a large crowd waiting and it was on Triple D. Wait wasn't too bad at 30 minutes on a Saturday morning. I had a club sandwich and that was delicous. BF had the Kitchen Sink Skillet. He said it was okay (didn't eat the green... More

We went to this restaurant based on previous reviews. We were happy we went. The service was excellent. Although the restaurant was busy we were seated almost immediately in a covered patio area. The menu was overwhelming at five pages but our server was quite helpful and gave lots of good suggestions. My husband had the meatloaf sandwich and was... More

Its been featured on DDD for a reason. The whole style feels like Guy owns the place. The food is great, not exceptional, but still very good. Be prepared to leaf through the 30 page menu though. Seriously, I've never seen a menu SOOO long.

The decor was what you would expect in a diner. I liked it. Our waitress was on her game and super friendly, no complaints there. I ordered the bleu cheese bacon burger and the kickin pork green chili. I loved the burger. The chili was okay. I absolutely love chili of all varieties...white chili, green chili, red chili, mild chili,... More

The food was ok, but the service was wonderful! LOVED the woman that was hostess! And our waiter was great! This was a really good location! And the place was packed at 2pm, but service was still very fast!

Every time I am in Denver, I go to this restaurant for breakfast food no matter what time of day it is. If you go in the morning, be prepared to wait. It is a busy place but the staff moves quickly and I haven't had to wait long for my food or drink once seated. I would get anything... More

Have been to Denver a bunch of times and Sam's #3 always seems to be the preferred breakfast joint of choice. HUGE portions. Recommend Huevos Rancheros or the Breakfast burrito so you can skip lunch. Eating here during the week will get you faster service vs. the weekends though.

I noted this spot from my hotel room and the DDD episode came on that very night! I made sure to have breakfast before I left for my flight home. Delicious! Filling! I was so happy to have made the time to visit.
