Description: Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A must-stop on any trip to Denver.

It's diner food, and a diner experience. And I say those both as positive comments. Nothing super-flashy, some cool local recipes (The Colorado Cheese Steak for example). Service was good, we were seated fast and the food was good. All at a very fair price. My colleague had the country fried chicken which he enjoyed. It came with enough mashed... More

Prepare yourself for an expansive menu and huge portions. I had the Wild Bill Skillet with ground buffalo. The meal was great but I never had a chance in finishing it. All in all, a good spot if you're hungry in downtown Denver.

Anything with their pork green chili is wonderful! All 5 of us truly enjoyed our meal. All the servings are more than generous, and I was able to feed 3 adults/2 kids a meal with soft drinks for less than $50! My husband is a picky New Yorker, but he was ready to go back for another hamburger with the... More

We went around 2pm. Got a half order of green chili cheese fries to share. The flavors were amazing. The 1/2 order was huge. Then we split a red #3 chili burger. It comes with a side - we got coleslaw. It also comes with a bowl of extra chili. The burger was huge and cooked perfectly. The red chili... More

Went Sam's for breakfast and was very pleased. Had the Polish sausage and egg. Polish sausage link was cut cut twice lengthwise and then laid flat before being grilled. Tasted great. Comes with French toast, mini pancakes or potatoes. I chose tator tots for my potato. Coffee was hot fresh and topped up 5-6 times while I was there. Nice... More

If you're looking for a good old-fashioned diner food you'll find it at Sam's. Very casual setting, and plenty of televisions with sports for enthusiasts. Service was a little slow but other than that we enjoyed the experience.

We had a group of 14 in for breakfast and the Staff was amazing! The Food was amazing and the portions were HUGE and the price was right! I highly recommend the Spicy bloody mary as it was breakfast in a cup! Since there were 14 people in our party I was able to try a few different dishes and... More

Their breakfast food and mimosas were awesome. Who doesn't want a tall mimosa on a Sunday morning? We sat at the bar and had a great time getting to know the bartender, Marcus. He had some pretty cool tricks to show us.

My daughter saw this restaurant on tv and said that I had to visit. I ordered the 3 lb smothered burrito with the Kickin pork green chili. It was outstanding. Everything we ordered was delicious. They were pretty busy so the service was a little slow, but we sat ok n the sidewalk and had a terrific time. I will... More
