Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A must-stop on any trip to Denver.

Breakfast unbelievable

I remembered Sam's from another visit to Denver. If you go before 10 am, the prices are unbelievable. We had huevos rancheros for $5.99 and the plate was heavy as lead but fantastic. The next morning we had waffles with pecans and eggs. The coffee was superb and the service excellent. We have... read more

While in Denver for a long weekend we hit up a few places featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Sorry to say of the three we tried this one was a total bust. We had to wait at least 10 minutes before a server acknowledged us and this was at 2 in the afternoon - not exactly lunch or... More

The breakfast burrito was served quickly and it was enormous. My friend and split it. If you come before 10am the breakfast specials are very reasonably priced. Fun atmosphere and close to the convention center.

Great diner right near 16th Street! This restaurant has the feel of a 50s diner. The service and atmosphere are very good. I had the gyros and eggs and was impressed with the low carb alternatives that were provided. I was hoping that the gyros meat was freshly carved but it was not. Still a great meal at a reasonable... Found this place on a fluke years ago when I was town for training. Was fortunate to order the 2lb vegetarian burrito which absolutely incredible. Everytime me or my family are in town we visit this location. I only wish they had a place half as good back home.

We were spending the night in 16th street and decided to stop in for some breakfast. It was Sunday morning (Easter Sunday), so it wasn't as busy as usual. Our wait only took about five minutes. The wife and I have been here about three times now. The first and second time the food was delicious. Really good green chili... More

Stumbled across this diner on my ramblings in Denver and stopped for brunch. Table seating was a short wait, but places at the Waffle House-like bar was open. On one side of me, the gentleman was having a smothered burrito the size of the dinner plate. On the other side, the pancakes were just as big, and I could see... More

I had 2 eggs sunny side up with corned beef and a side of well done hash browns ( which were actually well done ! ) and marble rye toast to finish it off for less than $8.00 , crazy good deal. She had eggs , bacon, hash browns and white toast. I know this is a very generic order... More

We haven't been downtown if we haven't gone to Sam's 3. We love the HUGE menu and the old time feel of the cafe. Everything you order is a big order, great for young growing men but we usually split something.

While visiting Denver over spring break, we visited Sam's. It wad a block away from our hotel which was super convenient. No waiting despite appearing to be very full. Food was so good we went back the next day too. In all we tried the corned beef hash, the classic breakfast, breakfast banana split, cinnamonster, yogurt parfait, latte, cappuccino, and... More
