We had lunch there a week ago prior to a Freedom Service Dogs Graduation at Denver University. We just picked it out of the blue and had no idea what to expect. But it was great! They have a very interesting menu. I had the Steak Cobb Salad, my spouse had the Herb Roasted Chicken Salad and our friend had... More

Intended to go to a restaurant next door, but the patio at the roadhouse looked too inviting. I had the pig dip with truffle fries based on my server's recommendation. Perfect choice! One of the best lunches I've ever had! It was such a fresh, unique take on a traditional sandwich. Definitely check it out.

This is a very casual restaurant that serves great burgers in baskets and, around meal times, it is usually crowded with families, college students, professors, etc.

My husband, son, grandson & I went here for breakfast- it was very good. The cook even made our grandson's pancakes in a Mickey Mouse shape- he loved it!! Also, the coffee cups are huge!! We had been here a few years ago before it was remodeled- it's so much nicer now. We would go here again when visiting Denver.

We met another couple at "Spankys" for fish fry Saturday. We both drive about 10 miles or more just to have the fish fry. We've been meeting there off and on for a long time. Well, were we in for a shock. The restaurant has a new name ( no big deal ). The place has been remodeled ( nice... More

Spanky's used to be a middle of the road stop for a budget strapped college student who just wanted some wings or a decent burger. It is so much more now. It has renovated the entire interior and it looks fantastic and is a real experience to dine here now. Not only looks, bu the entire menu it seems has... More

We went as a family to the "new and improved" Spanky's. Our kids got pizza and a cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was very small and my son was still hungry. The fries were pretty good though. They were mostly excited about the shake bar though. For $3 you can get a shake and add any toppings you want for 50 cents... More

I was surprised to see a new exterior and interior paint job, new uniforms on the staff, but happy it was still a comfortable, casual lunch stop. Seemed to be a new emphasis on customer service as the staff and, I think the manager, checked in with me several times. Everyone was friendly and happy. The menu seemed less burger... More

My husband and I would go to Spanky's Roadhouse every now and again because it offered great burgers and fabulous fish. A win-win for us! Last time we were in the area and dined at Spanky's (around August/September 2013) we noticed signs that they would be remodeling. Great - so we thought. No big deal. We returned yesterday as I... Everything was... fine. Nothing great, nothing terrible. Burger was... fine. Baked potato was... fine. Service was good, atmosphere was college bar, with a slightly diner-greasy feeling in the air. Outside porch was nice. Some nice daily specials. Very close to DU (literally borders on it!). I imagine you can do better in this area.
