The Buckhorn Exchange is not your ordinary resturant. Touted as the oldest resturant in Denver, it has a very quirky cowboy ambiance. It's almost like stepping into the Wild West. The menu is catered to meat lovers. I'm not a huge meat lover, but I tried the rattlesnake, bison & buffalo. Each were amazing in it's own way. I highly... More

I visited here at 8pm on a Saturday with all foreigners, mostly German. Everyone was excited when we walked in the door and saw a bunch of animal heads all over the walls. It was a bit crowded, but we had reservations (that we made that afternoon for 7 people at 8pm), so it was ok. We ate upstairs, in... More

Tucked away in a historic building close to downtown and with a view of Mile High Stadium in the distance, the Buckhorn is not only creatively decorated with a museum-quality collection of stuffed and mounted wild animals (a zebra and a case of game birds were among the animals overlooking our table) but has a great menu stuffed with a... I decided to try something different for my birthday dinner this year and because of the bizarre foods episode I was excited to try something like wild boar or yak. First off they didn't have boar or yak. The one off menu thing they did have was a rattlesnake appetizer that cost 20 dollars. It sounded tasty and at least... More

Stopped in for dinner with a few friends and we decided to share appetizers for dinner. We had the Sirloin games tips, which were beef, buffalo, elk and mushrooms. The grilled duck in raspberry sauce and the rattlesnake with chips and dip. Best of all was the buffalo stew! Overall the food was good, the service was good and the... More

The Buffalo Prime Rib with dry rub excelled! Wow. Make sure to go upstairs to have a cocktail--very cool bar.

We were in town for a conference and one of our colleagues suggested we go to the Buckhorn Exchange as he heard it was a great meal. We went on a Sunday evening so it wasn't very busy, but we had made reservations so were seated promptly. The decor here is .... rustic? I love the history of the building... More

I ended up going to The Buckhorn Exchange based on a suggestion from the trainer of the class I was taking while in Denver on business. It was a Wednesday night I arrived at around 7 PM. As I was driving to the location I noticed that there was quite a bit of construction happening all around. I also happen... More

For the past 10 or 11 years we have celebrated our anniversary at the Buckhorn Exchange. Aside from the food...which is A-#1 we are friends with Bill Barwick and Roz Brown who entertain the crowd on Saturday evenings. Its lively, fun and a great meal, plus the Light Rail stops right at the front door sooooo no parking problems and... More
