We all associate Japanese food with sushi. This is country style Japanese. You can get sushi, but the rest of the menu is unique (at least in Denver), and delicious. The service is marvelous. The decor calls to mind a modest home in the countryside, as if it grew out of the ground and around the trees. Outside, the garden... More

This was one of the most beautifully-decorated Japanese restaurants I've ever been to. The food was authentic, and more like real Japanese food. The menu was a little confusing, but the staff helped us easily navigate what we wanted. There is beautiful seating outdoors as well, in a Japanese Garden that was gorgeous. The food was fantastic. The staff was... More

I heard so much about this place, and frankly, we were a bit disappointed. The atmosphere is great, but the food was a bit plain for me. I understand it is country style food, but it just was not that flavorful.

I consider going to Domo an investment in my education as well as a great pleasure. This is Japanese country Food. It is like nothing you have ever eaten in this country. The quality of the experience as well as the food is out standing. The first time I walked in to the place when it was still on Colfax... More

I love going to Domo for country style Japanese food. The food is delicious and plentiful. Count on having food to take home. Every entree is served with a generous appetizer selection of tasty treats. In the summer, the garden is so magnificent to walk through while waiting for your meal, and then delight in as you eat. Each part... More

My husband and I frequent Domo during spring and summer because the gardens are so beautiful during this time of year. I love that the side dishes are seasonal and we always get a surprise each time we come. My favorite has always been the Nabemono, but this time I went with the teriyaki salmon with the curry. I haven't... More

This was our annual pilgrimage to Domo, and again our best meal in Denver. The food, service, and ambiance (and Aikido entertainment) were amazing. The two types of Ramen (Spicy Miso & Beef Sukiyaki) were both were excellent. We ordered a side of Teriyaki Salmon again, simply outstanding. The Teriyaki Gyoza were very good too. The seven (7) side dishes... More

I have met friends here on several occasions. Enjoyed the food and drink - best Japanese country food I have had. Service was precise and speedy. Take a walk in the enchanted gardens and check out the Dojo while you are here.

I have read all the reviews, and can only conclude that there may have been a time that this was a good restaurant. That time has clearly passed. Perhaps I am a Japanese food snob, as I lived in Hawaii for 25 yrs. and Japan for 3. Certainly the decor was pleasant, although, not strictly speaking authentic country style. I... More

I was looking for a sushi place and I ended up in a Japanese "mountain hut"-looking restaurant, with fabulous homemade food. I had soba with mountain vegetables, but everything that arrived at he table (they offer you 7 side dishes) was fantastic. Ps if you want sushi and sashimi there is, but my friends and I just chose cooked food.
