Carmine's serves family style traditional Italian food including sausage and peppers, custom made ravioli, and baked zitti to name a few. Their Caesar salad is just amazing. This is a great restaurant for large groups.

Not your usual Italian food - homemade, flavorful, & yummy! We have not been to Carmine's on Penn in over 1 year, more like 2 years. I don't know why, no good excuse, zip, nada, no "la scusa." Interior - wonderful! Nice colors, comfortable seating. Words that describe the interior - Comfortable! Inviting! Relaxing! Stay a While!! You get the... More

I have eaten here several times including once with a large group of 20 somethings. First I have to point out that the bread was some of the best bread that I have ever had. I would return over and over just for the bread. Since we had a large group including a couple of vegetarians, we ordered a wide... More

My fiance and I went here last weekend- and let me tell you, it was amazing! Our waiter was so nice ( forgot his name but he had blonde hair, and a lacoaste shirt), the wine menu was great, and the food was out of this world! The atmosphere was quiet, and romantic with candles on the table, and the... More

We live in the neighborhood and typically take guests to Carmine's when they're visiting Denver. The Wash Park neighborhood has a lot of great restaurants and bars and this is no exception. The menu is written on a chalkboard on the wall and you have to ask your server for the descriptions of everything; the staff is very helpful. The... More

Garlic knots! Did I mention garlic knots? Phenomenal, melt in your mouth rolls that make this place one to remember. We haven't been to this restaurant in about 7 years. It was fantastic then and it is somehow even better now. There is no real reason why it took us so long to get back to it. I will grant... More

We went to Carmine's on Penn for Denver Restaurant week and had a wonderful experience. The old house that the restaurant is located in was warm, and had much character a - it felt like an old farmhouse with lots of heated patio seating, and rustic seating inside. The food was served family style with very large portions - there... More

The crowd is young and I am usually here to meet my daughter and her girlfriends for drinks. I appreciate the value because I usually pick up the check. Consistent and good service.

We really wanted to like this place given its neighborhood/locals history and feel, but I doubt we'll return. Our waiter made it clear that everything is 'family style' and there can be no alterations in how the food is prepared (could we have the tomato sauce on the side, no; is there a children's menu/size, no; can a different sauce...
