Is the Welton Street Cafe open? Try there. These folks give you large portions of mediocre "southern" food at a relatively high price ($14 in a carry-out box). They serve lots of lunches to folks who want lots of fat, salt, and sugar. Maybe the meat is fresh but that's all. Don't do this. You are looking at tripadvisor so... More

Having been married for almost 30 years to my wife who is from Georgia, I've had my fair share of southern cooking when visiting the in-laws. This is pretty good for Denver, but doesn't come close to cooking I've had around Georgia/South Carolina.

Sorry folks, this restaurant offers heaping plates of decent food. Yes, some of this food is similar to what you will find in the South. But real soul/Southern food is so much better and generally not out of a can or a freezer. It is ok food, but definitely not the real deal. I hate to break it to you,... More

The three of us ate a snack here on the first night of our US road trip and really enjoyed the fresh food, good beer, friendly, sports bar atmosphere. Good value and good place to go.

This restaurant is amazing! We try to eat here at least once when visiting our daughter and her family. Everything is tasty. I recommend the chicken fried steak, okra, BBQ pork, mac and cheese, and peach cobbler. Actually, everything is great. Also, the restaurant is very family friendly.

Everything I have tried here is amazing. The place serves up the best chicken fried steak and mac and cheese I've ever had anywhere. The chicken, sirloin tips, collards, peach cobler and banana pudding are all stellar. I'm just glad it's quite a ways from my work or I'd be three times my size :)

This place is awesome. Delicious down home cookin'. I definitely recommend trying the BBQ pork, mac and cheese and peach cobbler. Cash only. ....If there is a line, who cares. Just wait, it's worth it

Soul food run by two white guys? And it's epically amazing? In Denver? In 5 Points? Yep. I've been to a few of the soul food places in the area, and by far, Tom's is WAY better. Quality wise, gigantic portion wise, price was, convenience wise, atmosphere wise, everything wise. I agree with Bishoo-------had a bad morning? Go to Tom's!... More

The best Comfort food in town. Menu is relatively small but always varied. Just make a few things exceptionally well is the mantra here. From the jalapeño corn bread to the fried chicken & collards everything is filling and flavorsome. Main course two sides and a fountain drink all served up with a smile from 11:30am until they are sold... More

Tom's Home Cookin is hands down my favourite place to grab lunch in Denver, and it's clear to see I'm not alone, as the line snakes out the door and down the street! The menu is simple, but packed full of flavour - a selection of entrees and sides, and a simple ordering system. I absolutely love the meatloaf, and... More
