One of a handful

There are a handful of restaurants in Denver which appear on a variety of "best" lists. Mizuna is one of those. Year after year week after week you can send people there or go your self and have a wonderful meal served by competent and friendly severs in a warm and inviting atmosphere. It is a... read more

Forgive us for spending $600 on an all-in tasting menu with wine pairing meal at this getting-left-behind-by-the-up-and-coming Denver restaurant scene (5280 Magazine had them #5 last year, #13 this year, and we suspect out of the top 25 next year). We are experienced foodies who had what we thought was a lovely evening of wine tasting and dinner only to... More

The food here is wonderful. Their signature dish is a lobster macaroni. I highly recommend trying it. It is fantastic. When we were there they had a blackened cod dish that was very good. The wine list is heavy on French wines which I don't have a lot of experience with. The sommelier was excellent and paired the dishes we... More

Mizuna is a long-time favorite where the food is always lovely, the service and staff extraordinary, and the surrounds peaceful. It's biggest risk is that it is so consistently terrific, that one is tempted to try other things, or go elsewhere just for variety -- which is completely silly, because once there, the first thing out of your mouth is,... We dined here with two friends and each of us gave it rave reviews. One chose salmon which was served rare exactly as he ordered, he and I both chose the veal sweetbreads. Those were over the top delicious, the BEST sweetbreads I have ever eaten, totally superb! I ordered scallops --perfection, seared outside creamy inside. My husband decided on... More

Absolutely one of the best meals I have had in Denver. The staff was amazing. They really new the menu and took pride in what the chef cooked. Beef Wellington was the last thing on my mind when the waitress described the meal. I was sold, and i was not disappointed. The Beef Wellington was perhaps the best Beer Wellington... More

First a big Thank you to the wonderful and creative bartender, that mixed us a special drink with palisade peaches because we could not find a drink we liked on the menu. The service was top notch and the waitress we had was very knowledgeable about every menu item and made great recommendation to every single person in our group.... More

Hosted a party of 8 in their semi private area. Wine list was extensive and well rounded. Cocktails were well made and hand crafted. The server made excellent recommendations and everything that hit the table was above average. Thoroughly enjoyed the Sea Bass. Gave it 4 stars because something was off with the staff here. We engaged with the bartender,... More

Mizuna is everything a great "local" restaurant should be. Romantic ambiance; cozy; excellent food with a menu which has many great choices, a very good and reasonable wine list, complete with knowledgeable sommelier, and excellent service. Perfect dinner. Tasty corn bisque and diver scallops with a delicious sauce. Beet salad with goat cheese and pistachios, and delicious ricotta stuffed small... More
