Description: Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the...
Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Everything was weirdly perfect

Okk the wait is incredibly long if want to go on a weekend for breakfast. I waited about almost 40 minutes. We got out table. I should've made it specific to sit inside since we are not used to the Colorado sun, but thank god it was somewhat cloudy that day. My boyfriend ordered the chai latte and... read more

A friend and I came in as we have had tasty food and treats here before. Tonight we had the halibut, which was quite bland to say the least. A manager asked us and we explained we were displeased. Our server (Trent B) also asked us to which we gave him an honest answer. He offered to replace our meal... More

I went to this location with my husband for a date night. The social atmosphere was nice, but getting from the front door to the table was quite difficult. The spacing of the tables is really tight. The appetizers and entrees where tasty, just a bit on the small side for the price. Overall it was not a bad experience.

This place is fantastic and worth a detour--maybe soon it will be the first restaurant in a garage to get a Michelin star. Loved the perfectly prepared and inventive food--gravlax on a bagel, Colorado lamb burger, blood-orange mimosas and fries/hash browns from all sorts of potatoes. Disliked the wine by the glass (tasted as if it had been opened the... More

Root down is probably our favorite restaurant in Denver. It's located in Highland- an up and coming area of West Denver. The food is consistently good and always changing. The staff is always friendly and knowledgable. If you're in Denver International, I recommend visiting them there as well- especially if you're stuck in the airport for a while.

We like to share plates and this is a great place to do it. We ate on the terrace, nice view. Very California-esque. Good for cocktails too. Baby beets salad great; Roman gnocchi is NOT what you expect; arepas very tasty and just enough heat; Sweet potato falafel ok - overall would go back.

We went with our daughter and her boyfriend. Then restaurant was too noisy for our taste. If there had been more than 4 people it would have been hard to hear. The food was very good. We ordered several of the share plates and they were good.

Cute restaurant with great design. We were in the room with the lids of cans nailed to the wall. Great idea! If you are able to get the patio, you have a view of downtown. Free valet parking. The food was excellent, service was great. All of the food is fresh, and fun to eat! Different combinations that were new... More
