Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Root Down is a winner

Stopped hear for dinner during a family vacation to Denver. We didn't have reservations for dinner, we like to check out a neighborhood and then decide on what's for dinner. The crowds were big and it was impossible to get a reservation before 8:45. We chanced it and luckily got a table in the bar. The food was delicious, presentation was great, and the combination of ingredients inventive.

Great restaurant in a fun neighborhood. Nice place to meet friends. Walk the area while you are there as there is shopping too.

We have celebrated birthday and anniversary at Root Down. Superb service. Thoughtful and fresh local organic cuisine. I would eat here weekly if I could. Never disappointed.

My absolutely favorite restaurant in Denver. Great drinks, small plates to share lets you try a variety of goodies, and the creme brûlée is amazing. You will not want to share

Great date place! The waitstaff was helpful in selecting dishes. The servings were small but flavorful and beautifully presented. The ambiance is lovely. I would go there again and again ifI could afford it!

We look forward to eating dinner here anytime. Food is well prepared, yummy and well presented. I like the fact they are a farm to table establishment and their kitchen is always concerned about the quality of ingredients. They are so popular that you have to plan ahead to dine here.

As an example of how much we love Root Down, we get to the airport early to have a relaxing breakfast, lunch or dinner depending on our flight schedule. The food is excellent, the wait staff very friendly and helpful and the ambiance doesn't scream "airport". It's a great way to start a trip!!

There is both vegan and regular food here - unique and tasty - an very enjoyable experience. This is very popular, so a reservation is suggested. My social group loves this restaurant.

It's difficult to get a reservation here, so when you finally snag one, you think you've made it. Except that it doesn't mean much--getting a reservation can still mean a 40+ minute wait. Even on your anniversary. The attention to detail with food could hopefully transfer to front of house/service? Food is fresh, local, seasonal, inventive. Funky atmosphere. Wish it... More
