Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sunday Brunch with a Twist

Lots of depth and complexity of flavor to these departures from your typical brunch standards. The huevos rancheros came on an interesting bean cake with roasted poblanas rather than a corn tortilla. The steak and eggs were accompanied with a sassy salsa verde and chipotle mashed potatoes. The food... read more

Vegan, vegetarian, meat lover - doesn't matter. Here is a creative restaurant using the freshest local ingredients meeting your fondest wish... arepas with pablano cream, fresh beet salad, thai chile soup, grapefruit and burrata salad, diver scallops, roman style gnocchi, grilled salmon, rack of lamb. Vegan and celiac friendly. Complement that with a affordable, well chosen wine list, and I understand... More

Stumbled upon this golden nuggat with my husband while exploring Denver. Oh man the wings were awesome. And who doesn't love a list of local craft beers? Next time I'll make sure to stop in during Happy Hour to get my fill.

Great brunch locale somewhat pricey. Delicious, colorful dishes. Locally sourced foods gluten free and vegan options. Great patio and family friendly.

My daughter always wanted to visit here and we took the opportunity before seeing a concert to try it out. We were not disappointed! Staff was very helpful explaining any dishes and food, a bit on the high side BUT was very fresh and delicious, In fact, after sharing a beet salad, we ordered 2 small dishes and were full.... More

I was in Denver for an international conference, and I went for dinner at Root Down with six colleagues/friends who I had not seen for a while. The menu offers "sharing plates", which I suppose are usually taken as starters. We opted to have all of them and had two more later on and no main course. Next time, I... More

This was our first time and to describe it in one word would be...."Amazing" food and service ! It could not have been a better experience. Our server Kris & Mel were wonderful and the manager Maki went out of her way to talk with us and make us feel welcome. Great vibe, creative menu, and fresh food, couldn't ask... More

This place has been a longtime favorite. I specially loved when they had nutella stuffed crepes. Their bottomless mimosas were always great. On Sunday 3/22/2015 I noticed the color of the mimosas were off. When seated I asked our waiter about the off water downed appearance of the blood orange mimosas and he simply shrugged his shoulders. The Mimosas were... More

This hidden restaurant is just outside of downtown Denver but located in the area's hidden restaurant district as I call it. The food is excellent, I can't even begin to choose which dish is better. I was with a large group and ordered several small plates for apps and everything was phenomenal. Everyone loved their main courses as well. The... More

Our neighbors introduced us to this hidden neighborhood gem. Organic in nature, the food was excellent as well as the service. Reservations are a must and valet parking is available since parking can be somewhat limited.
