We heard about Slogar's at a campground while driving across Kebler Pass, and were told it was the best, so we had to try it, and are so glad we did! Simply outstanding! If you are in Crested Butte, you have to eat here!

Make your reservation! The line usually goes out of the parlor and out the door! Slogar serves only fried chicken or steak dinners, family style. Second on everything! Biscuits are fabulous, cole slaw very good and preserved pears--to die for! Cottage cheese, celery and tomato relish that is perfect aside the cottage cheese. Divine strawberry preserves for those biscuits. That... More

There are less than five real chicken places that I know of and this is one of them. We have been eating here for years. We were Jeeping in Colorado and we intentionally diverted our Jeep trip by 75 miles so we could have dinner here. This is my friends favorite restaurant. Meals are served family style with potatoes and... More

This is an amazing family style restaurant! We always get the fried chicken. They serve you so much food, you are sure to have leftovers. Martha was our server and she is amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We were in the mood for down home food and Slogars was recommended. We did not have reservations, but they fit us in anyway. We sat at our table and the waitress started to bring out appetizers. There were only two choices for dinner, fried chicken or steak. Everything else came with dinner. The appetizers were homemade and delicious. The... More

Fried chicken, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, along with fresh homemade bisquits. This is the only thing on the menu and its served family style. They do one thing and they do it very well!! Its in a quaint old building with lots of old pictures of crested butte, and the service and food is fantastic. The price is... More

Our family has been dining here for over 20 years during our summer vacations in Colorado. The Slogar offers fried chicken (or steak upon request) with a wide selection of side dishes and ice cream for dessert. We enjoy the family style dinner and find the side dishes to be exceptional. The problem is that the chicken is just average.... More

We ate at this restaurant again when we were visiting Crested Butte. Last time I did not rate it very high, because it was so hot inside (No AC) and the service was not good. This time it was totally different. It was cool outside so that made the restaurant comfortable. We had the best waitress. The food was hot... More

We had been hearing from other travelers that Slogar was a must stop on the culinary tour of Crested Butte, so this trip we finally visited. It's family-style service of a set menu. The meal starts with cottage cheese, tomato chutney, coleslaw and relish tray. The main course is mashed potatoes, gravy, cream corn, biscuits, and fried chicken. Steak is... More
