We had been hearing from other travelers that Slogar was a must stop on the culinary tour of Crested Butte, so this trip we finally visited. It's family-style service of a set menu. The meal starts with cottage cheese, tomato chutney, coleslaw and relish tray. The main course is mashed potatoes, gravy, cream corn, biscuits, and fried chicken. Steak is... More

This restaurant is basically a fixed price fixed menu fried chicken restaurant. The food is good. However, be wary of the upsell. Extra garnishments (pickles, carrots, and celery) cost $9 which is not disclosed and the waitress asks if you want "refills" on the chicken, which is not free as it implies.

We ate here over the weekend after hearing good things and were blown away by the incredible experience we had. Comfort, comfort and more comfort accompanied with flavor, service, and a wonderful old-fashioned kind of ambiance. I consider myself a fried chicken connoisseur, and this was the best I've had yet. We arrived at the restaurant not even very hungry,... More

Slogar did not disappoint. We were seated promptly, and our meal was served almost as soon as we were at the table. Everything was delicious. We will certainly be back.

Food was great, a bit over priced though. Our group, was 4 people and we ordered 2 chicken, 2 vegetarian meals and had plenty of food to take home. Make reservations and plan on being hungry!

Too stuffed to give a proper review - visions of honey buttered biscuits will be dancing in my head tonight :)

Enjoyed a great meal with good friends and family. Served family style, we ordered the fried chicken dinner. My favorite part was the appetizers..home made creamy cottage cheese that melted in your mouth, several condiments that were ever so tasty. I ordered the Rib Eye Steak...everyone else got chicken. Steak was cooked to perfection. I didn't have room for the... More

Family style fried chicken dinner, all you can eat and then some. Great meal with great atmosphere. The pre-meal appetizers are excellent and included in the meal. Home style cooking and it was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly.

This restaurant was recommended by some friends that had been there before. We were not disappointed. The staff was very attentive and even though we did not have reservations they seated us after a very short wait, (they were not that busy, since it was off season). The appetizers were delicious and were all home made. The setting was an... More
