I have been here two times in the last two years on vacation. Second time is shame on me. Both times were identically bad If you like below average food, way expensive prices, and marginal service, then go here. Forget any positive reviews - would not recommend this place to anyone.

We had dinner here and the prime rib and steaks were cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is also very nice inside. Our waitress, Ashley, was very good and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant for dinner.

Regularly ate at the Wooden Nickel on ski trips to CB years ago. After an absence we were eager to visit. It was still just as we remembered. We did eat early in the evening so the place was not crowded, and we received plenty of attention from our waitress. The evenings soup special was a Hungarian Mushroom. It was... More

I ate at the Nickel last year. I was not overly impressed. The seating in the room is tight. The food took a long time and looked like it has been sitting before it was served. This could have been due how crowed the restaurant was over the holiday. I had hoped for a better meal.

I went out looking for a good steak dinner, expecting to pay what ever it was. The prime rib here was good, but nothing special. It was overpriced, in my experience. Everything was fine but nothing was exceptional. The seating wasn't all that comfortable. I was at a table in the bar area so it was pretty busy and a... More

We started the evening at another restaurant, but were worried that no one was eating there. So after a drink, decided to head over to the Wooden Nickel and were glad we did. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, and the Crab was also really good. It was a great evening of dining and super fun atmosphere. They take... More

We went here on our first night in town. The atmosphere was very nice, as were the wait staff. We didn't wait long to be seated and the food arrived very quickly. The major downside to this place is that it is quite expensive, but the food just isn't worth the price they charge. The fries were undercooked and tasted... More

Saloon like restaurant with great ambiance. However, food was extremely expensive for what you got. $40-50 entrees with only meat and starch...no veggies, bread, salad, etc. The service was excellent as we had a friendly and expeditious server. Convenient location on Elk Ave. Just prepared for sticker shock! Although very good, the food was not worth the price. No extras... More

Enjoyed both the drinks and the food. Try the Elk entree. Wonderful. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable.
