Date night with hubby of 20+ years

Best Mexican food we have had since moving to the valley 3 summers ago. Service is a little slow but they were very nice. Highly recommend but don't be in s hurry

CB south location--- mexican restaurant has traditional menu with good food. Atmosphere is cute in a log-type setting and is kid-friendly

We were excited about the reviews we read about Rubens. It was not very crowded & somehow we could never get our waitress to help us. Several times I had t get the manager to get us additional items. Waitress NEVER asked how the food was or if we needed anything. The food was good & the salsa was fresh.... More

On a snowy Monday night, I walked a mile (literally ) to this place, arriving right around opening time, and was greeted by a cheerful staff who immediately offered to buy my first drink. Good start! House margarita, please. After chatting with the waitress, bartender, cook, and owner, I discovered my drink was gone and I was now good and... More

Rubens is the best Mexican food in the valley. The New Mexican style is authentic and very very fresh. My compliments to the chef. I've been there consistently now for 4 years, every time I vacation in CB and it is fabulous every time!! It is worth the drive to Crested Butte South. If you stay in the town of... More

I love the atmosphere in Rubens. It feels like a movie set but extremely authentic. But it's the food that beings me back for 10 years. If this place were in Dallas, I'd eat there every week. Al prepares amazing food consistently. Tonight I had the Carne Avacados Burrito. Wow. Can't wait to go back. I'm sorry that I live... More

Stopped for Dinner and arrived a 1/2 hour before the restaurant opened. They let me come in to relax and I ordered a Margarita. After reading the reviews I had to try the queso. I was very impressed by the flavor- the best I have ever had. I ordered 2 chicken enchiladas and they were served sizzling in a plate.... More

While out "leaf-peeping" in the Crested Butte area, my husband & I came across this wonderful restaurant which features NEW MEXICAN food...which is a bit different from traditional Hispanic fare (& MUCH different from Tex-Mex, which simply can't compete with the other 2). I had the chicken burrito with green chile sauce (the BEST I've found outside Santa Fe, &... More

I've been visiting CB for years. Ruben's is always a stop while we are here :) We always look forward to a beer and cheese dip after a day of hiking.

Crested Butte has a couple options for food with a south-of-the-border flair, and we often head to Rueben's in CB South. It's consistent, yummy and has great margaritas! You can always taste the tequila! Cuz if you can't taste the tequila, why bother? Servers are pleasant and pretty on top of things. It serves a largely local crowd given that... More
