Our visit to Uwe's for German food was good, but not great. We had lunch and enjoyed sauerbraten and the fish special. The food is authentic and reasonably priced. The service was very good, fast and efficient. The restaurant is clean but worn and could use some updating. Located east of the downtown area near the US Olympic Training Center.

Unlike many of the other reviewers my family roots are not deeply German. Yes, the location is not the best. However I did find the restaurant comfortable. The staff, beer and food were all fine.

We have been eating here for 20 years. It is the best real German restaurant in town. I lived in Germany for 9 years and this restaurant comes as close as you can get to the real deal. I've never had a bad meal and the people are always very friendly. The portions are large and the salad is wonderful.... More

This restaurant is like eating in Germany. The Schnitzel is authentic German-style, big as your plate and delicious! You should make a reservation, as the place is small and always packed. It's usually closed in September because they go to Germany during the Octoberfest.

We had lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Both meals were excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. There isn't much special about the atmosphere, therefore 4 stars instead of 5. My grandmother was a professional German chef, so I do have some familiarity with German cooking.

Don't expect anything fancy, but good solid German food. Many of the favorites are available and in good size portions. If you are looking for German food, this is the place to go!

I love German food and know it can sometimes be difficult to replicate well in the US. Maybe I was just at this restaurant on an off day at lunchtime, but I was not impressed with the food. I could taste the canned mushrooms in the watery brown sauce and the potatoes were very dry. Wish it had been better... More

We visited Uwe's on 17 June 2014. The modest but familial and pleasant restaurant serves excellent German food..On this visit we picked the Sauerbraten with red cabbage and two dumplings. It was excellent just as the Veal Schnitzel we had the last time. The Apple Strudel was also very good. The service was efficient, prompt and friendly. We rate is... More

I ate here on June 6, 2014. The food was very good. I especially liked the salad with its different pickled vegetables. I would eat here again.

We visit this restaurant at least twice a month. We spent six years in Germany and the food at UWE's compares with the best in the native country. It is priced right and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!
