It was good

Quick service, tasty food. Reminded me a lot of a Cracker Barrel. I don't normally eat that much fried "comfort food", but my parents loved it.

We eat at this place every time we are in the area. We sent two different couples here last week and they both loved it. Very large and diverse selection with free rolls and biscuits for starters. Located on Colorado Avenue in Old Colorado City.

Second time we have eaten here. Last time two yrs. ago my wife a teenage granddaughter and I. This time my wife, daughter, son-in-law, their 4 kids, ages 5 to 10, and myself ate here. We had chicken fried steaks, which were very good, pork chops also very good, kids had macaroni & cheese which they said were very good... More

Food was mediocre, prices too high for the greasy spoon it really is. We paid $100 for basic diner food for 5 (3 adults, 2 kids).

Nice home style food and great prices! The service was great even though we showed up thirty minutes before they were to close! They did not rush us!

We came in for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. We were seated immediately and served quickly. The server, Casey, was very nice. The mozarella sticks were homemade and the stuffed pepper soup was excellent.

This is a typical local joint that can't quite figure out what it wants to be. It has decor of a Cracker Barrel and a menu with elements of everywhere else. Everything from nachos to meatloaf wellington. The service is average for a locals who tolerate tourist money. Not a place to make a point to go or to come... More

Our specialty is, and has been since 1982, American comfort food. And I can assure you that you will NOT find Nachos or Meatloaf Wellington anywhere on our menu (our Monday Special of the Day is currently good ol' fashioned meatloaf w/ brown gravy). We definitely are not attempting to be like anyone else. Actually, considering our consistency and age... More

I don't like to give negative impressions but sometimes it happens... This was our second visit over the past few years. We ordered Rubens off the sandwich menu tonight. The corned beef was a bit greasy and bland. The meat was more like boliled beef without much flavor at all in my opinion. When I'd take a bite most of... More

The decor of this restaurant immediately takes you back to an old Colorado ski or hunting lodge. The food and service lived up to the testimonials on the website. The chicken fried steak, the bell pepper soup and the rainbow trout were all terrific! The prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend Mason Jar if you want a homemade meal... More

Looks like a Cracker Barrel, that was my first thought when we walked in. My wife and I had a late lunch at the Mason Jar, so we just split the Blackened Trout. I got the Caesar Salad on the side, I asked first if it was Romaine, they said yes. It was Romaine, but the dressing just seemed like... More
