A good family place

This was a nice little family place to eat. Good food and a good selection on the menu. I had the rainbow trout and it was really good. The sweet tea was also refreshing and just right. Medium prices

This is a nice change of pace to chain restaurants. The food is good and the staff is friendly. The prices are a bit steep for dinner compared to what I'm used to. However it was just what we were looking for to get a quick bite on our way through Manitou Springs. They do offer a kids menu with... More

Good restaurants in Garden of The Gods area are hard to find, but the Mason Jar Is a pretty good place to eat. I had their chicken fried steak, and it was a large portion, with real mashed potatoes, and cream gravy. If you go right before the work crowd, or at off times, your seating would be no problem.... Our large party of 12 ate here the other night, ranging in age from 3 to 70, and everyone was able to find something they loved. The trout was fresh and excellently if simply prepared - some of the best I've ever had. I also had the bellpepper soup as an appetizer -- again, simply prepared but delicious. Some of... More

We actually ate here twice. The first time was for dinner as a large family. The food was good and the waitstaff very patient with our small children. We met some friends the next day for lunch (at their suggestion). Again the waitstaff was very nice and friendly. The Cobb salad as great. It's all scratch made. Family friendly.

Home-cooking, great service, varied menu, cocktails. Lots of character in this well-established business. Particularly friendly!

Extremely friendly wait staff, great food, juicy burger, tasty fries, and the best part...they use Mason Jars for the drinks (go figure right) Good place for family, food came out quick, and as a 13 top that's impressive. Good service too, drink glasses were never empty. One of the best mushroom swiss burgers I've had in a long time.

Before we begin, the Family Restaurant's location on 2925 W. Colorado Ave. is either in Colorado Springs (mail), Old Colorado City (where its actually at), or near Manitou Springs where some local businesses list their place at. Their menu only gives the street address -- I don't they're address sure either! Doesn't matter: the food is great and prices standard.... More
