Home Comforts

A nice, cozy restaurant with comfort food that reminded me of home - just what these weary travelers needed on a busy day. Our waitress was excellent, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Highly recommended!

The food was OKAY but I thought it was overpriced for the quality that you get. Our server was HORRIBLE. We were actually talking at the table, trying to figure out what was off with her. We eventually realized she was on some sort of drug. Needless to say, we won't be going back to the Mason Jar anytime soon.

The MJ is a throwback--in a good way. It provides very good comfort food with good service and reasonable prices. The rainbow trout special on Wednesday is a must. No glitz, go pretension, just good food.

Comfort food, reasonably priced, with excellent soups and deserts. Deserts. yes, Deserts. Just try the strawberry shortcake. Trust me on this one!

The service was friendly and efficient with not too long to wait after ordering. The food was very basic in presentation and taste.

As soon as I saw the name, I knew I was going to go here for dinner! And I was not disappointed! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive and the food was just what I like, a good home cooked meal! The decor of the restaurant was exactly what I thought it would be, reminded me of home! This place has some good old fashioned home cooking. The homemade BlackBerry Cobbler is absolutely fantastic and well worth the visit even if this is all you get. The wait staff are very friendly and welcoming and treat you like your home. Go have some BlackBerry cobbler everyone ! Oh yea.. The Chicken Fried Chicken is pretty tasty as well.

After a morning/afternoon trip to the zoo, we found Mason Jar and glad we did. Excellent service with friendly staff, good food, and plenty of refreshing iced tea -- served in large mason jars, of course. Reasonable prices combined with ample portions. But yes, we saved room for dessert and glad we did. The cobbler was delicious.

We've been regulars since the late 80s. Interestingly, the specialty has always been rocky mountain trout which I have never seen anyone order. The chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and cream gravy, however, are the best we have ever had. And, the fried chicken is perfect. Served with homemade biscuits, cornbread, and fresh salad or homemade soup. The service is... More
