For over 40 years this family-owned German Restaurant on the south side of Colorado Springs has served over a million happy customers. The restaurant invites guests to dine in one of its several rooms decorated with artifacts from Europe. With strolling musicians on Friday and Saturday nights, three blazing fireplaces in winter, and an authentic "Biergarten" in summer, you are sure to enter into another world as a guest at Edelweiss. The authentic menu with a variety of Old World German dishes includes Schnitzel, Bratwurst, and Sauerbraten, with newer-age items such as Flammekuchen and Maultaschen. For those not so adventurous palates Edelweiss offers other Continental fare such as Chicken Cordon Bleu, Filet Tournedos, or Fresh Salmon Filet. Imported German Beers and Wines can be ordered to compliment any of the flavorful dishes. The European-trained Swiss Pastry Chef bakes all of the desserts from scratch, so save room for one of the rich Tortes or pastries, or take some to go.

German Food - well done

My party had a wide variety of dishes, the restaurant offered platters that allowed you to sample several kinds of german style food. Everything was cooked perfectly. The dessert of German chocolate cake really rang the bell. Check it out.

Oh my gosh this place is wonderful! We decided to go for lunch first to try it out. And I'm so glad we did! Really there's not much need in going for dinner unless you want something they don't serve during lunch. Because the price is fantastic...mine was $10.00; and was a very large portion, I took half of mine... More

We did not have reservations and the wait was not that long, so for that I give 5 stars. The problem is that neither one of us got the meal we ordered and couldn't eat what they brought. It was so busy, by the time we could tell our server, we were just ready to get out of there. It... More

I lived in German for almost 4 years while in the USAF. Being of German heritage, I developed a taste for German food. This restaurant definitely has both authentic German Food and atmosphere. It is definitely worth the visit. Having a large military population here in Colorado Springs, many who have also been stationed in Germany, a mediocre German Restaurant... More

ER provides good German food with very good service and a great environment. The best German food in the Springs from salad to dessert. Take advantage of the 1/2 off the second meal coupons.

The desserts are out of this world as are the breads. The waiter said the baker has been at this restaurant 40 years and I can see why. The food was very good as was the wait staff. The only reason I rated this a 4 and not a 5 was my daughter got a stuffed pasta dish and it... More

Start with excellent German beers on tap. Wonderful mixed cold salad comes with entrees. Almost a meal in itself. Traditional entrees. Superb assortment of cakes for dessert. You really can't go wrong when you're craving German food and drink.

Our family went to Edelweiss recently for a happy celebration following our son's college graduation. The restaurant was very accommodating about making a reservation for a large party, even when I had to change the time just a week before the dinner. Two of the diners were great lovers of German food and somewhat of aficionados. They both gave the... More
