For over 40 years this family-owned German Restaurant on the south side of Colorado Springs has served over a million happy customers. The restaurant invites guests to dine in one of its several rooms decorated with artifacts from Europe. With strolling musicians on Friday and Saturday nights, three blazing fireplaces in winter, and an authentic "Biergarten" in summer, you are sure to enter into another world as a guest at Edelweiss. The authentic menu with a variety of Old World German dishes includes Schnitzel, Bratwurst, and Sauerbraten, with newer-age items such as Flammekuchen and Maultaschen. For those not so adventurous palates Edelweiss offers other Continental fare such as Chicken Cordon Bleu, Filet Tournedos, or Fresh Salmon Filet. Imported German Beers and Wines can be ordered to compliment any of the flavorful dishes. The European-trained Swiss Pastry Chef bakes all of the desserts from scratch, so save room for one of the rich Tortes or pastries, or take some to go.

Good food, but menu changing is a bad habit

I always used to eat at this restaurant during the winter. Walking to the place over the little bridge is almost like entering a snowy wonderland in Germany. The outside architecture is very German. The interior decor is amazing with lots of paintings and furnishings, almost like a traveler's lodge deep in the Alps of Germany or Austria. Most of... More

I lived in Germany and this restaurant serves the real deal in German food. Unbelievable pastries too. Great beer garden even on chilly days with heaters. German beer on tap and in bottles is really fresh. Place is run like you'd expect from a strict Germany woman--on time, exactly right and courteous. Prices really good at lunch, slightly higher at... I enjoyed my mean at Edelweiss, mostly. I found their take on red cabbage to unlike anything I ever ate in two years in Germany, but it may be a regional stye. I wasn't fond of it. The menu is full of German specialties, as you might expect. I did not find the food to be any better than at... More

OMG...we stumbled into this place...been going to Colorado Springs for years and never knew this was here. The best....I mean the best German food I've had in a very long time. Brought back so many food memories from when I lived in Germany. I had the Zigeunerschnitzel and it was awesome. This is the first restaurant in the US that... More

The food here is good, but not exceptional. Been here a few times - service can be a bit slow. I have lived in Germany and understand what German food can be. Edelwess tries to hit the mark, but isn't quite there yet. I'll give it another shot.

Was so happy to get such pleasant service. Our waiter was congenial joked around, and knew about all of the food extensively. I would go back again based on his service. The food is German as the name implies. I'd recommend viewing the menu prior as I feel the options may not be to everyones taste. The items are mostly... More

We were seated in a nice and cozy booth downstairs, right on time with our reservation. The food was delicious! I had Chicken Cordon Bleu and my bf had the special surf and turf. He would've preferred a little less pasta and a bit more lobster for the price, though. Had tasty German chocolate cake to end a wonderful evening!... More

We have been enjoying Edelweiss Restaurant for many years now. We used to live in COS and one of our sons graduated from USAFA, so we got to know this place very well. We typically still travel to COS on birthdays (4 hour drive from where we live) just to celebrate at Edelweiss. It is my wife's favorite place to... More
