Truly a delight! Maybe that's all I need to say! The owner is a gem and the food is delicious. I would like to keep it a "local's secret" but it's too good to hide!

While travelling to DC, we discovered the wondrous experience of Ethiopian cuisine. Once home to Colorado I web searched hoping to find anything within a days drive, and was thrilled to find Uchenna just up the road in Old Colorado City. If you haven't tried Ethiopian food, please stop what you are doing and go now. The bread is a... More

We were on a major driving trip with friends and found this place on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed! We felt like family from the start. The Ethopian bread was the most unusual I have ever eaten. Our only regret is that we were passing through and unable to eat there again!

You'd never find this place if you weren't looking for it--but I'm glad a friend knew of it because it was delicious. It was great to try something other than the usual plain old American/Italian/Mexican food and yet have it still be really delicious. The owner is very welcoming with a big smile and happily educates you on how to... More

This is a super cute hole in the wall local biz. The staff is bar none the sweetest most welcoming group in the springs. They totally accommodated for my 3 yr old and my 1 yr old. The food was awesome and adventurous. The coffee was amazing. Highly recommend a visit and we will be back for sure.

We went to Uchennas restaurants with friends after researching the restaurants in Colorado Springs. We could not have had a more wonderfull and complete dining experience. From the moment you walk in and get the magnificent aromas, to the lovely welcoming decor and waiters. The food was fabulous and our waiter guided us through the menu. The Ethiopian bread was... Fantastic food. A must try if you've never had Ethiopian, or if you've eaten it your whole life. Take the whole family and make an experience of it, you won't regret it.

This restaurant is a local gem. Chef Maya is the sweetest person you will meet. The food is absolutely phenomenal!! From the samples of specialty drinks, to the main course, through dessert and coffee...everything is delicious! Makes you feel like you are in Africa for a few hours. The staff are kind and caring. My husband and I plan to... More

I'd never had Ethiopian food ever before and I am already craving to come again. The rose-water lemonade is fragrant and refreshing. I had the "Yabeb Alecha" lamb sauted in ginger and garlic creating a vibrantly spicy and very rich taste. I loved the exotic experience of eating a completely authentic Ethiopian meal with the traditional gluten free break rolled... More
