We ordered a variety of items from the Ethiopian menu and had them brought out in "family style". Our order included a lamb dish, a chicken dish, a lentil dish and a cabbage dish. Everything is eaten by pinching bites with the Teff bread. The short story is that we enjoyed all of the dishes. The flavors were complex and... More

We had never eaten Ethiopian food before and everyone was understandably hesitant. But once the food was served - we all loved it! The Injera bread used to scoop up the food was delicious and completely different than anything we had ever tasted. All of the dishes - beef, chicken, and lamb were spiced perfectly and the meat was tender.... More

If I am ever in Colorado Springs I will happily take the time to enjoy a meal at Uchenna. The staff and owner were attentive and friendly. The food is sublime.

Scary that the restaurant was not busy on a Friday night, but the staff were friendly and the food was very yummie! I'd go again.

Challenging myself to try new things, I went to Uchenna with my mom today. The restaurant is located in a shopping center. Entering the restaurant, there was no one there (bad sign). A couple walked in right behind us of which seemed to receive more attention than us. The hostess/waitress/server is lacking in customer service skills. I tried to order... More

My husband and I were recently in Colorado Springs on vacation and went here because of the overwhelming great reviews. What a disappointment. First, there was no air conditioning. We weren't sure whether it was broken or it just never worked, but it was hot. Then, there was the lack of service. Maya might be the owner, but she can't... More

Found Uchenna on Tripadvisor & per reviews gave it a shot. Surpassed expectations. We were warmly greeted by Maya (owner) & seated at a lovely linen covered table. We ordered from the Ethiopian menu - lamb & seafood. When plates were served Maya showed us how to eat using the Ethiopian bread as a utensil. A fork is supplied if... More

I had the lamb gyro and it was the freshest most flavorful tasting gyro I have ever had. Will most definitely come back next year when we visit Colorado.
