While we make no claim to being experts in Ethiopian cuisine we have sought out these restaurants in our travels, so it is familiar to us. we were happy to find that there was such a restaurant now in Colorado Springs. We were treated with loving care while we dined and found the variation in how the food was served... More

The food was the best and the hospitality was wonderful!! Learning different foods of the world and how they are eaten, only makes this the best of experiences. Especially with food this delicious!!! The Owner (Maya) is just wonderful and is the icing on the cake in this experience!!!

The food was truly outstanding and alive with flavor. We went there based on the reviews but it was far better than expected. Maya, the owner is a wonderful, warm hearted person who loves to cook and it shows in every bite. Even if you are not real adventurous I suggest you try this restaurant. The food is not overly... I visited because of Uchenna's Trip Advisor rating. I wasn't disappointed. Very humble surroundings but $30 for 2 bought us an amazing meant +veg combo. Spiced just right. Maya is an angel and is a reason for going alone. But the food was superb. GO!

great food - and you have to be open to trying new things. The owner greets you and treats you like she lives to make you happy, she is just not a super polished server - but that is part of the charm; it is very earnest. We got a couple different plates to share. Tip - don't' try the... More

We have become regulars at Uchennas whenever we travel to Colorado Springs to see family! The food unique and absolutely amazing! Maya cares so much about all of her customers and she is very passionate about her restaurant and Ethiopia! You will not regret trying this place out!

How fortunate for Colorado Springs that the best Ethiopian experience I've ever had also happens to be the only Ethiopian restaurant in town! Their mantra- "Live! Love! Eat Well" couldn't be more astute. Chef Maya has such a glow about her, and you can absolutely taste the love that goes into her food. If that's not enough- she uses grass... More

My family and I had a wonderful time eating at this restaurant. The food quality was excellent and the hostess, Maya, was the sweetest lady ever! On top of that, the quaintness of Uchenna is what added to the warm atmosphere. If you want the comfort of home when you're visiting Colorado Springs, then this is the place!

We're on a two-week cross-country trip. After hiking through the Garden of the Gods, we were ready for some exotic food. Thanks to TripAdvisor reviews, Uchenna was at the top of our list as a "must try" restaurant. It did not disappoint. We were warmly greeted by the proprietor, Maya. We ordered one Mediterranean salad which was ample enough to... More

To have a meal that is so satisfying, such a beautiful blend of spices, gluten free, fresh & delicious is something to behold! Servers that actually care was an added delight! I will be back!
