Exotic for the Whole Family

Chef Maya brings exotic flavors to salads, entrees, coffee, and desserts. We visited as part of a family reunion. Kids, parents and grandparents all enjoyed!

My husband and I recently became vegan, and we have found it very difficult to have date nights. This restaurant is the kind of small-family business you have to try! The food is incredible, and the Saragli is the best dessert my husband and I've ever had. We've traveled all over the world and this is some of the best... More

We visit Uchenna 3-4 times a year, everytime we're in town. Maya always remembers us. The injera is divine and melts in your mouth. It's hard to decide what's the best because we love it all. My husband goes for the Meat combo and I love the veggie combo, then we share. We always go away satisfied, both physically and... More

I agree completely with the reviewer who stated "It's like eating at your Grandmother's house...if your Grandma was from Ethiopia!" Definitely a fun, cultural experience for those who are looking to step out of the ordinary, to feel very welcome, and a chance to eat with your hands! Would I have liked larger portions? Yes. I asked for the food... More

We travel extensively and have lived overseas in Asia and we consider ourselves adventurous when it comes to food. How this restaurant made it to no. 1 on trip advisor is beyond us. No atmosphere, VERY basic decor, crumpled tablecloths and mediocre food. We always rely on trip advisor to choose restaurants when we travel and this the first time... More

Had been wanting to try Ethiopian cuisine and will definitely be back again. Service and food top notch, left with a hug from the chef. Great place.

My husband took me here after he raved about a previous visit. I'm so glad we went! The food was excellent! The atmosphere was clean, tidy and decorated with all sorts of artwork and pictures of Ethiopia. The food was so good, flavored well with spices. The "bread" you eat with was different but very good. You do eat with... More

If my grandmother was Ethiopian! Maya is one of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever met and she is an essential part to the restaurant's experience. Every time we come in, Maya treats us like we are her children, not only kindly getting us what we need, but also greeting us with a smile and love every time. The... More

Great food and service. Highly recommendes. Get ready to eat with your hands - forks are optional. Great place to introduce kids to a cross cultural experience.

We came here because Uchenna was so highly rated on trip advisor and it did not disappoint. The reviews told us how good the food was but Maya, the restaurant's owner, would be the reason to come back. She is truly one of the finest people we had ever met and we were fortunate to have had some time with... More
