Excellent service and good food

We came in here quite late in the day on an Easter Sunday, and had a great meal. We drank good local ale, ate some good varied meals which we all enjoyed, and had excellent service from our waitress who also recommended us going up to Estes Park for a few days on our trip which was a great... read more

I had higher expectations for this place. However, when we arrived around the dinner hour on a Thursday evening, the place was nearly empty. Uh oh...not a good sign. The server was pleasant enough, the menu reasonably priced, the food was served in a reasonable amount of time. It was just mediocre - chicken fried chicken breast, black eyed peas... More

had good service and average food here before but this time it was almost 7 PM with maybe 8 tables in the restaurant seated. It took over 5 minutes for someone to seat us, was put by the kitchen. Asked if we wanted the comp bread and we said yes. 10 minutes later just before our food arrived the bread... More

On our trip we were trying not to eat at chain restaurants but we had not been to a Black eyed pea in more than 30 years so we dropped in here. I was pleasantly surprised and how good the food was.....

Went to the Black-eyed Pea and became severely disenchanted with this establishment. We have dined there many occasions, but never again. Service was very poor, seems like not enough staff for a Friday night. Had to wait on refills, and checks. I ordered a rib eye steak, sent it back twice. I gave up, because I am fairly certain the... Offers a very good, reasonably priced senior menu. Service was good. If you are in the mood for comfort food, this is the place.

I've driven by this establishment many times when I have visited Colorado Springs. I finally decided to stop and try it. The menu has your typical chain restaurant offerings with some twists...like black-eyed peas. I had the chicken fried chicken...a nice size breast with decent country gravy. I toyed with getting a piece of peach cobbler...but by the time I... More

My 2 daughters (10,12) and I went this past Thanksgiving for dinner there, and we LOVED it! for the 3 of us we got the traditional turkey dinner with ham and 2 sides and drinks and desert for under $40 including the $10 tip I left for the wait staff. The staff there are very friendly and attentive, our drinks... More

Today's traveler is often on the road for days. It is wonderful to find Black-Eyed Pea still there offering comfort food when you've had enough of fast or fancy. Our "to go" order was ready promptly and a good value for the money. Only one request I have for them, and it appears I may have to do the asking...the... More
