Great authentic Mexican food

We had lunch at El Taco Rey while visiting Manitou Springs. The place is small with a few tables inside and a few more outside. The service was friendly and the food was very good. This is not the kind of food you get at the Tex-Mex chain restaurants. Everything was fresh and hand made. Overall, a... read more

This is the place that the locals go for REAL Mexican food in Colorado Springs. This is a local, family-owned business with one location only. It is a frequent destination for our family and although we rarely divert from our favorite selections, everything we've ever eaten here is really good. They make a fabulous green chili (we love the Deluxe... More

There is something that is made obvious when you see a restaurant no bigger than some cubicles with 30 people in there trying to get some food. They have a way with flavor, where everything in a burrito is delicious and you can actually pick the ingredients out.

No matter what your plans are, take the time to stop by El Taco Rey for a late lunch or early supper. It is family owned and family run. The food is exceptional, consistent quality and well worth your time. Best parking is in the back in a large parking lot. Hope you take the time.

The food is made to order and is always fresh. The star of the show is the Avocado Pork Burrito, it can be ordered hand held, and or smothered and deluxed with their great green chile. They have a great expanded menu of other items. This place is family owned by the Aguilar's it is family run also and they... More

Great little place. We had the burrito and it was good. Our son was hooked on the beef quesadilla. Very clean and friendly.

Great Mexican food can be had here at this little "hole in the wall" joint near downtown Colorado Springs. Not much room for seating, so if you plan to bring a big family, plan on eating elsewhere. We ate outside on a gorgeous day. I had 2 bean burritos and a brownie. The burritos had great flavor. The atmosphere is... More

Have been going here on and off for 10 years or so. It is very small. A hole in the wall, biput those are often the restaurants with the best food. I have always ordered the smothered pork burrito #5 because it has always been FANTASTIC.. It has been at least a year since I have been able to eat... More

As you approach this restaurant that is a little off the beaten path, you feel like you are stumbling onto a well kept secret. But when you see the crowds, you realize that this is a very popular local joint. Incredible food, generous portions, and an friendly staff made this worth the trip.
