Went in for breakfast while Christmas shopping. My husband had a fruit plate filled with food so ripe, he couldn't eat it. My poached eggs had broken yokes and were cold. We never did get refills on coffee or water - even though there were only 6-7 tables with people in the restaurant. We won't go back. more

I just had the John Dory special at the Marigold. It was excellent. Our waitress was superb. I can't remember the last time I had a meal this good. They were even accepting and friendly to my two-year-old! She enjoyed a generous cup of chicken vegetable soup. My husband loved his New Zealand Red Deer rack. The desert was delicious. more

Marigold Cafe and Bakery is a hidden treasure in the shadow of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs! Close to area attractions of Garden of the Gods, Gley Eyrie Castle and Conference Center and downtown, this is a wonderful place with a warm bakery cafe feel. The menu for lunch includes generous sandwiches on home-baked rolls, pizzas, glorious salads, soups, and... more

Marigold seems to have potential but doesn't deliver for breakfast. I stopped by hoping to benefit from the combination of a bakery and a restaurant but I was disappointed. I was seated quickly by the person behind the counter ("sit anywhere") but sat there for 5-10 mins before a waitress showed up from the back and offered coffee. Then a... more

We've had breakfast, lunch and dinner here several times. Every meal has been excellent. The filet mignon is the best you'll ever have. The cinnamon twists for breakfast are addictive. The wait staff always provides great service. This place is a real gem. more

Being titled a cafe and bakery, you could easily miss this treasure. Marigold provide breakfasts, lunches and dinners. We focussed on dinner and visited three times during our fortnight's stay. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, the service is consistent regardless of the person(s) looking after you and nothing short of excellent. Attentive, helpful and bubbly.... more

Not sure if it was because I was there by myself or because I showed up in hiking shorts and a nice t-shirt, but the waitress didn't seem terribly interested in making sure I was taken care of. I felt a little under-dressed but others in the restaurant were dressed the same. It took almost 10 minutes just for the... more

We were 6 (2 kids) who came on a Sunday morning and found the restaurant closed, we we came Monday as we had great expectations. Unfortunately the service was slow and the waiter muddled up our order, maybe it was our fault asking for different things. The French toast was not tasty, the croissant was too fatty and the baguette... more

Our hotel recommended this restaurant. They had a big menu along with a list of "specials" for the evening. The dinner salads were excellent. We got the "Lamb for 2" and it was enough for 3. Check out the desserts in their case before you order dinner. We went back for dinner a 2nd night so we could eat a... more

This is still Tripadvisor's #1 rated because it deserves it. Visited 7/28 - 8/4 and ate here three times - once for breakfast and twice for dinner. Breakfast is hearty and delcious. Dinner is skillfully cooked and desserts are out of this world. Small, but nice wine selection. more
