Best fried chicken in the state!

On a cold winter's night we were hungry for fried chicken so we placed an order then went to pick it up, which was a great decision as there was an hour and a half wait to be seated! Oh my - the best fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed veggies, and rolls and butter.

Known for their fried chicken. It is great. Served with mashed potatoes and crisp vegetables. We also recommend the artichoke dip

I like the food here, but nothing has really WOW'd me. I like their salads, and their sweet potato fries. I've always had VERY so-so service, sad to say. I enjoy having this local eatery, but for the price, it just leaves me wanting a little *more*.

We were meeting family in Castle Rock and happened upon Castle Cafe when we were looking for a place to eat. We were all VERY pleased with our selections. The food was fresh and portions were substantial. The pre dinner rolls were generous and wonderful -also made fresh throughout the day. Three of our party ordered ribs, one ordered Walleye,... More

When visiting towns with a history, we often choose a local's joint for the town flavor and the Castle Cafe didn't disappoint. Standard fare prepared and served in a manner established years ago. Nothing all that special but certainly adequate for lunch while passing through.

The food here is really good. Fried Chicken is their specialty but they have a great menu with very good choices. The Chicken Fried Steak is awesome!!! I usually get that when I visit. The staff is friendly and helpful. Service is quick and the food is great!!!

We haven't been to the Castle Café in about 3 years. We were invited to dinner last night. I was totally disappointed in the chicken fried chicken that I got. It was about 1/4" thick with just so, so gravy. The mashed potatoes had no flavor with a lot of gravy. The vegies were out of a bag of frozen... More

I've been here a couple of times and always have high hopes for this place but it's just mediocre. We sat at the bar this visit and I was disappointed that the server/bartender seemed to forget about making my drink. Loved the buffalo chili this time. Ribs were just ok.

This place has a great vibe. The bar is fun, the booths cozy, and the decor is great. We've been three times so far and it was a bit variable. Ranging from 3-5 star ratings. It can get really really crowded and this can affect the service. Their food is also of mixed quality. Fries were awesome once and then... More

Clearly the best thing on the menu, we have friends from out of town who insist that we MUST go there. Cooking the meal takes longer than other menu items, so keep that in mind, but, OH BOY is it worth the wait. Then they take the cracklins from the fryer and add them to the mashed potatoes. In my...
