Not sure it's worth the hype.

They are famous for their pan fried chicken but not sure it's worth the price. I actually ordered (and enjoyed) the trout because it was less expensive than the $20 chicken platter for a Sunday lunch. Sure, you can get second helpings of the family style sides for free, but how much food can you... read more

We visited here with friends on a weekday evening. Although the restaurant was very busy (usually is!), we were seated quickly. The menu is chock full of comfort food favorites, meat loaf, chicken fried chicken, and of course, their famous fried chicken dinner. I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. My dining partner had the pulled... More

Went here on our last visit. I had Alaskan Cod; fish and chips. Then I switched the fries to sweet potato fries.....very good. My wife had a southwest style salad with chicken and goat cheese. Very good, too. We will return. Very good food and caring service.

Went to dinner here with a few friends. Enjoyed the western decor, well maintained and simple. The environment is open without being too loud or crowded, and the seating comfortable. Service was on point and responsive, friendly and engaging. They brought out fresh rolls (with that little bit of flour dusting still on top). They were delicious. Then we ordered... More

Known for it's fried chicken, unfortunately you can't get it during the week at lunch (they cook it fresh). The other meals are good, great salads and sandwiches, but can be a little pricey.

We were a party of 7 and came in at 6:15 on Sunday night. Didn't get seated until 7:00. We had five different orders and yes one of the orders was "Fried Chicken". So now it is 7:30 when we get our food. The ribs, walleye and trout where all tough/dry. Our college students were pleased with the chicken fried... More

Love this place! We go specifically for the friend chicken. It is delicious! Just know that the fried chicken is made fresh to order so it takes a bit longer. Just order it right when you get there. Service is great too!

I am not one to send food back as it is a distraction to the table but if I could I would. Tried a Ruben this time with onion rings. Only ate one onion ring despite the extra charge because they were not even warm to the touch which tends to make them very greasy. My Ruben was warm on... More

The chicken is great and made fresh when you order it. Great comfort food. Building has a lot of history so it is fun to take people from out of town there. It has a old west feel to it.

We had dinner last Saturday at the Castle Cafe. The food was divine and the service excellent. The pan fried chicken is the best, done to perfection and never disappoints. The family style serving gave everyone plenty to eat and none was wasted. The Blueberry cobbler was very delicious and a big hit with our family.
