Smithy has great mimosas and a wonderful breakfast brunch menu. The patio is marvelous in nice weather. Kid friendly and low key.

The Village Smithy provided a great lunch for the wife and me on a recent visit. You gotta stop early as they only serve breakfast and lunch. The food was really good, large portions, and the wait staff was excellent. Fun local place serving some of the best coffee I've had in a while. We will eat there again when... More

I haven't been to this area of Colorado in a while and stopped in for lunch with my sister who lives in the area. I remember the breakfast always being pretty good so thought we'd give lunch a try. We had a turkey/avocado (Turkado) sandwich and a grilled veggie panini. They were both quite bland. I tried the soup of... More

The soup of the day was lukewarm (like it had been sitting in the bowl ready for awhile) but it was homemade & tasty. The raspberry preserves on the table were out of this world. The club sandwich was nicely filled with ham, bacon and fresh turkey. The reception to non locals was a bit off-putting, especially from our waitress.... More

I have to agree with waxlady and Robin D who found Village Smithy not to be as good as in past. Whenever we go biking in Roaring Fork River valley, I push myself those extra miles (calories) so I can have a black and blue burger and fries at Village Smithy. Well, time to find a new culinary motivation for... More

I couldn't wait to try the tofu scramble after reading the menu on Trip Advisor. April was our server and she was excellent. I've been a restaurant / bar manager for over 30 years and she is someone I would hire. Food was wonderful and the homemade hot sauce was excellent. The jam looked homemade and my husband stole my... Have been going to The Village Smithy since the 70's. Always loved it. Moved away from the area but came back to enjoy the food. Had the WORST soup I've ever had....like hot water with some tasteless chicken and sparse veggies. My husband got a half pastrami and cheese sandwich which he enjoyed. Waitress never returned to pick up the... More

I grew up in Carbondale and are at the Smithy every chance that I had. There is not a better breakfast place anywhere else that I have been. All of their egg dishes are incredible. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth the wait to get in.

...salad in a glass. Need I say more? Besides that, everyone was very pleased with their meals. Dad had the Chilli Rellenos, which he orders everywhere. He said theirs was in his top three. Mom had the cherry apple walnut salad and I had the roasted vegetable panini and small salad. All delicious, but Dad said the blueberry pie was... More
