My wife and I rode from Glenwood Springs on the Rio Grande rail-to-trail route. We stopped for brunch at The Smithy. Everything was amazing. My wife enjoyed the chorizo omelette and I had the salmon benedict. However, don't leave without ordering the Bloody Mary. It was fresh, spicy, and balanced.

Great place, good food!Sat outdoors on the patio & enjoyed the warm, summer morning with green grass & beautiful flowers. The server was friendly & attentive. Breakfast was delicious!

I brought my family of 5 here because of my fond memories of brunches past, but I couldn't eat my meal because there was so much egg shell in my (also cold and overcooked) eggs. My kids were happy with theirs at least, and the coffee was great.

I can see why this place has earned the #1 restaurant spot in Carbondale. We rode our bikes to breakfast on a Sunday morning and sat outside on the deck. We each ordered something different - the western omelette, chorizo omelette, blueberry corncakes and eggs with bacon. No one had a complaint. The homemade raspberry jam is amazing. The waitress... We completed our family camping trip of 16 people with a breakfast at this place. The server was amazing, dealt with our kids perfectly taking their orders and being oh-so-patient (there were 9 of them, and I cannot express enough how great he was working with them, many shy and ages 5-13, and really made it easy for us parents,... We stopped here after hearing rave reviews about their breakfast. The Village Smithy definitely lived up to the hype! We went mid-morning on a Sunday and didn't have a wait but it was pretty crowded. I had the lox and bagel sandwich and it hit the spot. Others at my table got the chorizo omelet, buttermilk pancakes, and the Benedict... More

Whenever we pass Carbondale or stay in Carbondale, we make a point of having breakfast at the Village Smithy. Homey atmosphere. Great food! My favorite is the pumpkin pancakes but if they are not in season there are many other choices. Stop here on the way to Snowmass and Aspen; there's nothing better there!

We were visiting the area and this place was recommended to us and we weren't disappointed. The pancakes were excellent and the addition of their maple syrup is a must. Would definitely recommend their orange juice. Staff were friendly and it was good to be able to sit outside but in the shade.
