Good tourist stop for that western experience. Food OK, slightly better than routine "homoginized" Mexican. Considering location, a good place to stop on a journey from Denver to Durango!

My family and I went skiing this weekend and a few years ago it was our tradition to stop by here after skiing for some warm drinks and food. Well, we decided to try it again. Boy were we happy we did. We started off with some fresh warm tortilla chips. I had a hot tea, my husband and his... More

While the Coyote Cantina won't win many culinary awards for variety or gourmet quality, the prices are fair, the service excellent and the meals above average for roadside Mexican and Americana dishes. The atmosphere is classic Colorado and the location makes it perfect if you're just passing through on your way to other adventures. There is good visible parking for... More

This is a great place to stop, and grab some tasty food on the track to and from Denver. The service is great. They are very fast.

We have found Coyote Cantina to have tasty meals. If you like good food, it is worth a stop. Not a five star restaurant and it is not intended to be. It has a good variety on their menu and is a nice local favorite. A variety on the menu. The fajitas are good. Generous portions.

In recent years this cafe has slipped in our estimation. Where we used to never miss an opportunity to go, now we have had some poor experiences. Nothing seems to be exceptional about it anymore. Food is average but too high. Service was horrible on our last visit (new waitress? - no excuse) Sorry. can't recommend Coyote anymore.

And isn't meant to be. It's a rustic place, inside and out. We were greeted by 3 different employees as soon as we walked in, including the cook. Basic menu, great food and service. When we're back in Buena Vista, we will go back here. PS - to the 2 reviewers who were "offended" by the décor, lighten up! A... More

I have dined here multiple times over the years when vacationing in the area. IMO, the quality of the experience has dropped. The food is hit and miss on quality. The drinks are OK. The service last week was horrible except for the young bus boy who was very nice. Servings are plentiful. I won't likely go back.

Coyote Cantina looked like the best place to stop on Hwy 24 without going in to Buena Vista, and we were pleased with our choice. We were headed west/south to Poncha Springs and then west on 50 and were ready for a break and a bite to eat. The building looks a little like something from Diners, Driveins, & Dives,... More
